Default fibre broadband ip change

ive just gone on to fibre with dynamic IP

unfortunately when i reboot the router to change the IP it takes up to 10 minutes to re-connect

this becomes a problem as i need to change upwards of 20 times a day

my old router used to take less that 30 seconds

does anyone know a quicker way ?

ah, not sure then mate, never used them so i don't know what router/modems they use, so i don't know what options are in the user interface.

have you logged in to the user panel ? what make is it ?

you can use the suggestion above but some routers/modems need to be restarted for the new mac to take effect , in that casde it would not solve your problem, my netgear on TT takes 30 seconds to swap mac and i do that for the same reason , my router/modem take forever and a year to boot up.

bit hard to check until you actually get that hardware.

most have a cancellation period 30-60 days.

may be but most providers use more than one router/modem set up and you dont actually know what your getting until you get it.

actually no i didnt

to be honest it wasnt something that crossed my mind

all i was interested in was the dynamic ip

as tiz says there is a router AND a modem and i wasnt sure which i was getting

maybe i should go back to just one ebay account to alleviate the problem

it does work with stealth, its just taking a while to boot up which seems quite normal these days.

Just grad a J or cup of T in be tween boots and bobs.....
