Yeah. They should be sued for having that much sensitive data hacked. They should lose their credbility as a credit reporting agency. That is just ridiculous.

Although, China already got a lot of that info from any and most government employees.

Just gotta monitor your credit reports. Safe lock or whatever

@123 - Creditkarma gives you tons of credit card offers but they let you check Equifax and Transunion as many times per year as you want. I've been using them to monitor my score as I'm building a credit history.

I highly recommend any of you on here with a SSN go to that page and check to see if your information was compromised. Mine was. Screw you Equifax. I never liked you guys anyway.

Equifax is offering free credit repair for this. If you except the offer it disqulifys you from a class action lawsuit if there is one.

DO NOT EXCEPT EQUIFAX OFFER FOR FREE CREDIT MONITORING AND REPAIR...

Are you sure? I've seen two separate statements on the Equifaxsecurity2017 site now that appear to suggest the contrary. I say "appear" because I'm not a lawyer, but this is what it says:

I'm not sure, I didn't read it.If I did I probably wouldn't understand it. I heard Dave Ramsey talking about it on his show.

But before that I saw the offer on their home page.

It sounds right to me though. I've been screwed like that twice. Once by AT&T back in 1999. I excepted a free 1,000 mins which kicked me out of the free nights and weekend contract I was grandfathered in on back when my cell bill was more than my rent.

Then chevy got me like that in 2012. They had a offer where you could buy a new car and return it within 30 days. They offered $1,000 off frees. By taking the offer I got stuck with the car.

In response to consumer inquiries, we have made it clear that the arbitration clause...

Searching the dark net for my SSN + CC info as we speak.

But really what can I do if I find my info? If I react by changing all my banking info I'll lose the ability to withdraw from all my Paypals. I guess I could request a new SSN but that would be just as much of a hassle with 3 business registrations to update afterwards.

I hate lawsuits but there's no excuse for Equifax's total lack of Opsec. I'll be hopping on board the class action bandwagon ASAP.

I haven't had good credit in 16 years . . . I try to fix it and then **** happens so I gave up trying. it sucks sometimes but it's a lot less to worry about.
