Thumbs down F#$% Hurricane Irma

This storm had my wife so scared. She made me evacuate two days early to her parents house (Good Times)... Then it went up the west coast instead. But not before it made sure to take out our cable company and cell towers. The only constant internet connection I've had in the last 3 days is Verizon 3G data using a WeBoost 3G amplifier and antenna.

I cant get anything accomplished. My AT&T phone only works when it wants to... It's like they're playing with me turning the tower on and off, or all the connections are getting sucked up by everyone else without internet here.

Yeah, sorry to hear that man. Irma messed with our internet connection for a few hours during the storm but luckily no infrastructure damage afterwards. We almost evacuated when they were saying it was going to slam SC as a Cat 4.

Easy for you to say... You weren't stuck at my wife's parents house... You would have been tapping out, trust me...

Trying to run a online business with only a spotty 3G connection is like trying to get a softball through a garden hose... What took me all day to accomplish today usually takes 30 mins max. The only website that doesn't seem to lag is this forum.

I think cell data is messed up from everyone trying to use it all at once.

As I wrote this the cable & internet came back on.... Guess all it took was a little bit of crying...

I've been without cable and a good internet connection for a few days so I had no idea how bad the Keys got it until now. What I've experienced is nothing compared to what they're showing on the news.

I was able to watch the storm pass Naples on the weather channel but really wasn't impressed. I guess it was worse than it looked.

Its amazing how fast 75+ mbps is after being without it for a while. It feels so fast I'm actually kind of impressed. I'm sure it'll ware off in a hour or so though.

I mean, it's the keys... Little islands stuck out in the middle of the ocean, in an area that gets hurricanes pretty much all the time. Of course keys would get it bad.

I'm so sorry your having these problems. I hope it gets better for you soon. Just be glad it went a different direction. I know a Florida eBayer who had her inventory stacked off the floor in waterproof containers and the storm knocked everything down, cracked open the lids on impact, and her whole inventory is now a moldy waterlogged mess.
