But considering that only 4% of the CURRENT cases are something other than mild, it's pretty reasonable to conclude that the outcomes would be way closed to 4% than the current 15%. So if we are going to talk about meaningless numbers, why show the most imposing and largest meaningless number of the bunch? Unless we test everyone, including a test to see if non sick people HAD this virus at some point, it's all meaningless gobledigook.

Some countries clearly aren't declaring accurate stats for how many of their cases are serious:

Philippines: 1 serious case,572 mild cases but 3 people died today
Indoensia: 0 serious cases, 701 active cases but 3 people died today
Saudi Arbabia: 0 serious cases, 869 active cases but 1 person died today
Poland: 3 serious cases, 1015 active cases but 4 people died today.

Quite apparent that some of the 'mild' cases are dying isn't it?

First off, I'm talking about America, and I highly doubt American hospitals are under reporting. But lets say they are. So instead of 572 mild cases in the phillipines, they were off by 2, and it was actually 570 mild cases?

No you weren't, you were quoting worldwide figures.
And No because not all of the serious cases die and they don't die straight away either so they'd be off by a lot more than 2.

I'm not saying anyone is deliberately not reporting the breakdown of their serious/mild cases, it's probably just not a priority for them to disclose that information. Iran hasn't declared any of their active cases as serious and they have 100 people per day dying.

Added the last several days to the US cases Growth Factor chart.

Nice to see 2 consecutive days of only 9% growth!

Critical/Serious is currently at 2.2% of cases.

Like 2008,we will see more petty crimes,2 couples will go into Kroger, one couple will remove the security tag from the diapers and the second couple place it in the shopping cart and walk out the door.
I am getting more low ball bids on my gold jewelry

You act like the stock traders aren't aware of the jobless claims. That the numbers actually come out, will some how make them change their minds. They know. It's not secret information. No one is at work. obviously jobless claims would be high. If YOU know, then clearly THEY know.

I have a total of 18 boxes just sitting in HK waiting to be picked up.. which is the status they've been stuck in all week.

Well said, buddy.
This sort of uncertainty is enough to cause massive amounts of stress. I'm currently in the same boat for two products that are flying off the shelves on eBay.
I hope for the best, but I know it is inevitable that I'll have to kill the listings and lose all the traction gained over the years.

No one could have anticipated three months ago that one-third of humanity would be under lockdown today.
I look forward to when all of this will be a memory.

you are seeing it the wrong way.. the ones where you say the people who died today are no longer "active cases" because it has an outcome
also mild cases can still turn to serious if the patient has any underlying health conditions
the Total global deaths on closed cases (recovered v's died) is at 16% a big increase from 2 days ago which was 11%
those figures seem high but if you look at active cases Mild v's serious is 4%
..
Would like to say there is nothing to worry about but unfortunately due to it been highly contagious and no vaccine anytime soon then we have everything to worry about, dig a hole and clime out of it in summer...
A lot of people seem to be more bothered about a lose in money, reading through threads that seems to be how financially worse off they will be when its over and probably thinking how to gain from it!!

Re: Corona Virus

Numbers are gonna be rough estimates for a year or so, at least on CDC and WHO who have claimed they've revised some of their numbers for SARS/MERS around a year after the last non-lab related incident.

I found that there's a pattern regarding what countries get most involved with outbreaks.

US, UK, China, Italy, Germany, France, Spain, and Iran seem to be the ones involved. It's amazing India doesn't get hit hard seeing as they are world's second largest population.

MERS

SARS

Speaking from a RNG point of view this outbreak happening is a good thing because the chances of another one occurring just as contagious is not as likely now. Not impossible but not as likely. Could now say this was bound to happen since Spanish Flu was in 1918 - there's a possible ~100yrs before the next contagious outbreak. Pair this with a high fatality % and this would've been pretty scary.

As an American, I think I can honestly say that most of our parents and grandparents, would inf act sacrifice themselves if it meant their kids would have a good future, and would not want to be responsible for the cratering of our economy. I know for a fact my dad agrees.

There are two ways to stop the spread of the virus:

1. Vaccination (Still not released).

2. Draconian China-style lockdowns

There is really no 3rd option here and most western governments seem too reluctant to solving this crisis.

Re: Corona Virus

''Could be worse then Italy'' Id say it WILL be worse then Italy. The U.S. is not on lock-down, only some states. So im sure many are fleeing to other states. NY, CA, and WA need to stop all flights. But even then people can drive across state lines. Very difficult and complex situation that does not have a good ending. The Whole U.S. needs to go on lockdown for one month

Read between the lines

The virus will be allowed to keep raging on until everybody is infected. They're now peddling the story that it "could" become a "seasonal" virus.

So we should shut down the economy every winter when the deadly virus shows up? Of course not... Why should we when we have a vaccine that will take care of business? ---> Mandatory vaccination is coming :welcome;

Been saying that for awhile, they will put something in the vaccination, and if you dont take it, you wont be able to buy or sell anything. The needle will leave a Mark.
