Can't get IE to open in Vista...help please?
Using Vista Home premium and following a "hard" shutdown I can not open IE. I click on it and a window opens, but nothing...the little status circle just keeps going round and around. If I go to close it, the the (Not Responding) pops up it the top bar off the window.
I have been trying to transition to Firefox, bit still have all of my bookmarks and passwords for all (and there are a lot of them) my sites in IE and they are registered under many different emails to guard against spammers.
I thought a system restore might work, but for some reason there was no restore point to go back to. Is there a way to import passwords from IE into Firefox? The bookmarks are there, but all out of order.
I was able to get online through the AOL browser and also Firefox in safe mode but no luck with IE. I don't think that you can even uninstall IE but that would also remove the bookmarks and passwords...Is there a way to do a "repair"?
