One advice, actually two. First don't let kids bother it too much, as cats have proved to be much less tolerant then dogs, and it can be quite serious. Second, since its a male, it will wonder off from time to time, don't be upset, they usually come back. I have 2 cats, but both are female, since we have mice, lizards, snakes and rats, and females are much better hunters. Altough the two dogs (stafford terriers) usually take care of rats and bigger stuff

Yea you are not lying. I had a female all black white Siamese cat and every now and then when we open the door she would dart out, only to comeback home meow'ing on my bedroom window 2 or 3 days later pregnant or with a new boyfriend hoping we would let him in..

Sometimes she even brought back mice

But the cat was viscous when it needed..I saw her run off a rottweiler dog. the dog took off scared to death.. no lie

Have you considered getting your cat spayed or neutered.

imthatguy 10-16-2010 03:33 PM

I "had" a female all black white Siamese cat

I adore my Cats. Alice is nearly 20 now and has lived on the farm all her life. When I moved in it took her over a year to accept me.

Tom just turned up one day about 8 years ago and has been here ever since

A house is not a home without a cat

How about posting a picture of the famous FuFu ?

I am sure we would all like to see him. :)

OR...

I could start a pet-thread so everyone could post a picture of their favorite pet. (I'll do that tonight)

:argue:

There might be a lot of fur in the vomit that makes it look that way.

Cats need to eat grass to help with digestion. And you can buy special dried food to help with fur ball problems.
I feed my cats a variety of foods, raw meat, raw and cooked chicken. One cat loves raw chicken necks. Canned fish, salmon, tuna, mackeral and sardines. Plus cooked fish. Canned cat food and dry cat food, which I vary.
I always have at least 2 containers of water available, but one cat loves the lactose free cat milk.
I don't consider them spoiled as I'm just making sure they have a healthy diet. :D

We have 2 sheepdogs that live in the yard. If ANYONE who they don't know comes in the yard while we are not there they get nipped.

We also have 2 house dogs - One very old labrador and one Jack Russel that's 8 weeks old and will be moving into the yard soon. At the moment I have my daughters King Charles Spaniel living with us and it is one useless lap dog - EXCEPT when Charlie goes out to put the chickens away then she comes into her own. I have never seen a dog round up stragglers like she does.

But I'm a cat person - always have been and I guess always will be - I love all my animals but my cats are, I think, like me. A bit standoffish but if you treat them properly they will treat you properly.

GTB 10-01-2011 05:12 AM

yeah, dont get me wrong,i like cats too, more of a dog person though

Labradors are lovely dogs:)

my neighbour just got a choccy pup, proper cute:)

we demand a photo of your kitty!! :D

same thing happened with our dog. my wife brought it (small ****zu) home from the market and was supposed to bring it to her sister the next day. my wife never really liked dogs before. now, 4 years after, he's still with us. i couldn't give him away to her sister after he spent one evening with us and my wife now loves dogs. even sleeps in our bedroom at night on a bean bag.

:pop2:

imjustme 10-01-2011 05:36 AM

Don't be a hater.... ALL of God's furballs are a blessing, no matter if they bark or meow. I grew up having a dog and 2 cats. They got along fine, in fact the dog became VERY protective of the cats. When the dog passed away, the cats kept looking for him. I'm sure they both wondered where their friend had gone.

Some people prefer one or the other for many different reasons. Cats are lower maintenance and easier to care for. Dogs are more interactive. A dog will come when you call him. A cat will take it under advisement and consider your request. But they are all very loving creatures.

Cats are awesome. I have my main one that I got from my friend who's cat escaped and got pregnant. Then there is Wally, that my gf and I had to dig out of a wall because she was born in the attic and fell between 2 walls when leaving with her mom. I think she hit her head a few times on the way down as she's very strange. She is a beautiful tuxedo.

Then there is Atticus, he was born in the attic of the new house and we saved him and 3 other kittens. He turns out to be a ragdoll cat, which is a special show breed. Unfortunately he has such an enormous overbite and a kind of squished face that he isn't showing grade.

There are 60-80 stray cats in the neighbourhood that I live in. Even if you do not keep the cat, please get it fixed.

Cats are awesome, if you have any doubt just search youtube for funny cat.

P.S. Laser pointers are unrivaled for fun with cats.
