Default Something I was thinking of.....

I was going through the forum, and I came across alot of "paypal want's invoices/reciepts, but I buy all my stuff on craigslist, or at flea markets"!

Why cant you get a receipt from a vendor, or private individual? I do it all the time.

Is this code for all my stuff is f#*K, or St*#en?

eBay and PayPal mainly ask for supplier information on higher-risk items, or where a seller is suddenly doing a large volume of business.

When it is due to volume, they are trying to verify that you really DO have the merchandise and that the orders will be filled.

When it is due to risk, USUALLY - BUT NOT ALWAYS, they suspect the merchandise may be counterfeit or stolen. In this instance, it is more about verifying the legitimacy of the items.

Of course, that does not mean a seller of non-branded flip-flops won't be asked to provide this information, but it would be unusual.

I have a couple accounts that dont sell brand name stuff. When limited they asked for invoices. When I spoke the the girl at PP she said its just a standard request they always ask. If your items dont come from a supplier its easy to work it out with them in most cases. Like Jeff notes, they are only concerned with folks getting the goods and knock offs. If you can clear those two you are pretty set
