I've always liked Archos in the past. Tried one of their low end Android tablets earlier this year. Was not expecting anything insane for the price I paid and knowing what market they tend to target. I have no issues with cheaper build quality and reduced specs, but what shattered my hopes was how torn apart Android OS was on the device. It was like I wasn't even using Android, rather some rushed proprietary OS slapped together by some fresh intern novices.
I still have hope for them because the price points are rock solid and this is where tablets future eventually will end up. From those two links of newer devices, they still have a long ways to go, but at least they keep pushing forward with trying to improve while maintaining the best price points on the market.
Do they have a Honeycomb tablet yet? A tablet needs a tablet OS or it is fail. I won't even comment on attempts to run a desktop OS until someone can manufacture the right hardware and no company is even close to success yet.
