Let me guess, you parplayed that with Monica winning the French Open.

As a follow-up - was sad for the horse and rider that they were forced to withdraw on the day of the Belmont Stakes. Would have been nice to see a shot for the Triple Crown (not achieved since 1978 with Secretariat if I recall correctly).

Seattle Slew won it in 1977
Affirmed won it is 1978,,,NONE have won it since,,,
as a Side note Affirmed was part of One of the greatest rivalries in racing history if not THE greatest rivalary against a Horse named Alydar

Oh,,How I wish,,,,The ONE Area where Alydar TROUNCED Affirmed was Studding,,,Alydar, because of his Overall Superior Breeding woud get $100,000 as a Stud fee (An ENORMOUS amount back then), Affirmed would get about the Same , but the Demand for Alydar was UNMATCHED,,,
Alydar died (Put to Sleep) after suffering a VERY suspicious broken leg in 1990 Alydar

Seriously, horses are beautiful beasts. Thrill of the race helps.

I have never betted on horseracing yet - I should try for some fun but has not been on my list to do even though some friends have. I bet on other things shrug.
Horses are beautiful - would love to own one someday just to ride and take care of...
As for slapped - and so from there you kept following horses eh? Ok.
Speaking of "studding", I know you get paid quite a bit to "stud" ha
