Trial and error with stuff they have.

Lucky for me if I picked something when I first started doing this I put it into a box lot and ran it back through an auction house.

Now after a long time I know what to buy and what not to buy.

I go for stuff that's light to ship and don't cost too much offer FREE S&H on top of it so it's better for search engines!

Stopped by one yesterday and they had a bin with 1.00 sale on movies.

Some were actually very good movies.

Will toss them on Amazon when I get time.

Something tells me a clerk just tossed even the better ones with the lousy failed movies by mistake but oh well.

Not all dollar stores carry the exact same items. Many carry specific items based on the area or town. Look into those type of items.

Dead on!

I buy a candy only made and sold in my state and many who lived here grew up eating it and have no access to it. Now they do!

I know someone who lives close to a potato chip factory and buys by the box fulls because it is a large college town. Kids get hooked on them during college and order by the case from him when get out of college.

Amazon when you get them! SO FUNNY! I know that mcds around America has different foods from state to state, like Mcchickens are spicy in Florida but not in Michigan.

I know that walmart sells different items in all locations, I figured same with dollar stores!

You'll always make money with FOOD no matter what!

I sell a ton of food items that are only made or can be purchased around me.

I also find sale priced Gator, Seminole etc items at the local stores and sell online to those who went to school here or lived here and moved.

Where to buy and where to sell is all you need to know. Then again...

Yup Sandy there is 2 things there Luxembourg has in foods that I can't get any where else in the world! One is a sauce, and the other is a hot dog type that is so damn good. After coming back to Luxembourg after 15+ years I ate nothing but that for 2 weeks to make up for the lost time!

There is a website here in Luxembourg selling foods online that is not in Europe! Here is the site check it out, might give you an idea and who knows might make you more money! Food is not my thing! americana.lu

And all those things you see on the website you can't find those products or brands in stores in Luxembourg or Europe! Ranch dressing for chicken strips and salad I can't find in this country, BBQ for the first 3 years they didn't have it here now they do! Along with other daily stuff I use to buy.

Check it out.

its the postage that is an issue, it needs to be a flat item or it falls in to package catagory and not letter > I do this to start accounts off, eg to get 20 dsr , stuff sells quick, I thought about doing it a main product but noticed alot of competition and thought it was a waste of time, but I will have a rethink. I have only seen a couple of lightweight products I liked that could make money....but will have another look! Would be useful to find a local 50p place, all my locals are poundshops...

I'm going to head to one tomorrow to see what I can find. I've been researching and there are foods in my area that sell great online. Only downfall is that there is competition on ebay selling same food items.

There will always be competition in everything. Computers, Music, TV channels, light bulbs, laptops (even the companies that build them dell HP sony) they have competition also. W.W.F./W.C.W. Cars, Mustang/Corvette, Christina & Britney, Michael Jackson & Prince, Late night TV shows like David & Jay, etc list goes on.

Just make sure you can cover your cost, product + ebay fees + paypal fees + shipping = profits!

Find anything?

I have listed and sold many items in different categories from the 4 different dollar stores I have around me.

Not a ton of profit but some profit and nice fb builder.

For some who don't know what to sell to make money, they can sell these and build up feedback! Until they find a niche in their own business.

For you peanuts might be another mans treasure? If he has over 250 items. And sales lets say 50 per day or 75 per day earning $1.25 profits still not bad! That's $22,800 to $34,200 per year. PEANUTS!!!!! That's what AMERICANS make in the USA! After or before taxes? LOL

Remember not everyone is as gifted as you Sir! Some have a hard time, some just lost their jobs! I will make another important thread for emails I get from a lot of you on here. I just want to be helpful!

I've seen sellers selling 150 items, and having feedback of 700 and all their items were under $6.99

Money is money! Maybe one day he'll have something better to sell or stick with that. And he'll have like an account with 3,000 feedback in good standing and all. Or not. Who knows. Don't be negative about it either.

ive got stuff from cheap shops not always £1 stores but i dont mind spending £2.99 £4.99 or £9.99 on an item if it makes a profit

just this week at a car boot sale i picked up a jem... a very well loved past time toy that i just so happen to know is a big hit in the usa

bought for £1 sold for £80

im happy as a pig in poo

ive done the same with vintage collectible tv related action figures
bought some from a discount store who had found some old factory stock nos toys... i walk in and buy the lot... £1 action figures hit £100+ on a regular basis

most ive ever had for a £1 figure was $350

i love and canadians too canericans i like to call them as i always have an american and canadian fighting over my items

Update: For those of you who don't have a lot of money or don't know what will sell and just starting out. Go to the store with a friend wearing a white sweater or T-shirt, take out the camera phone have them turn their backs too you, pull out that camera phone and snap a few pictures! Then post it and see what will sell!

Its called good planning.

With all the changes on ebay you have to be smarter then they are and play the game.

To play the game you have to sell low end stuff on a new account to build it over time.

I have over 500 accounts with more then half of them being worked from a baby stealth account to a powerselling money making machine.

All by buying dollar store, yard sale crap and selling it for little to no profits at the beginning but after months of doing everything right those account in most cases have no limits and no holds at all.

Being smart and looking at the long term picture is the way to go.

If you are out to make quick buck on ebay with a new account you might as well do something else because it is not going to happen.

Hard work and working smart pays off.

I am living proof of it.

I take peanuts today to see cash flowing like crazy in any account I build from scratch using this method.

That's what most people don't understand Sandy!

If you are new to ebay and don't know nothing about business! The $1 store will help you out! In the mean time you will earn extra money not much but something. Plus building up feedback! That is the key! I can have any account I want and within 3.5 months get TRS + Powerseller on it and this = to even larger sales by at least 70%!!!! Peanuts is for those missing the big picture!

Running a real business is very hard for some people.

Running a business not just takes effort, hard work, determination but it also takes the knowledge of money, marketing, time management, organization skills etc and if you are weak in any of those areas you will struggle.

Most want to get rich now and in todays world with some many intelligent people online it just is not going to happen overnight much anymore.

So you have to play the game to succeed and do whatever it takes to move your business (es) or the next level when the money comes rolling in.

I build many baby stealths from scratch selling low price stuff and it does not take long I have a solid powerseller account with little to no limits at all.

Some wont understand that but that is ok.

That part is so true! And you still need to find the niche in the product(s) you are in and still require to find a good supplier on top of it!

Even in real life, most business owners open up a location and think the work is done. So many go out due to wrong and bad locations. Very nice no limits. I got no limits either. I got stuff posted totaling in the millions with over 200,000 items. (auctions with 1,000 items GTC that's why).

You are a pro Sandy, and a guru in many fields, people should listen too you if they want to make it because you are already there!
