Seattle defense was amazing. Dont think I remember any NFL defense that was so fast.

Congrats to Pete Carroll. As a bigger college football fan then the NFL and not a USC fan I always enjoyed his style and coaching.

Seattle beat them with athletic ability. Speed like the SEC teams in college show everyone on both sides of the ball.

Nice to see Florida Gator Percy Having run like that again.

I believe all of us are shocked this was so one sided. I know I am.

NFC West has nasty Defense even the Rams and Cardinals. From watching the playoffs the tackling in the AFC was horrendous all six teams. Knew that was going to be a problem. But I gotta give the depth of Seattle props. I knew they could cover probably D.Thomas and Welker. I was a bit surprised at the depth to lock down Decker and J. Thomas as well. Defensive line put more pressure on Denver than I have seen all year. Lots of deflected passes hands in the passing lane.

Dominant performance by Seattle. Gotta enjoy this one because the NFC West is poised to be a slug-fest the next 3 to 5 years.

I am still amazed at the speed on Seattles defense. All players were fast and pure athletic when most teams have the slow 300 up front, these guys were not that at all.

The 49ers and Seattle games have been fun to watch the last years. Few blowouts. But overall the two best Defenses in the NFL. Solid running games. Real old school physical football. Very good tackling teams as well. Defensively this year Seattle, 49ers and Carolina stood out from everyone else. The tackling especially in the AFC Playoff games. The Chiefs, Colts, Chargers, Bengals, Broncos and Pats. Just pathetic. You can throw the Saints in there too.

I have said this the last couple years. I am still surprised more teams to copy the Seahawks and draft big 6'0 foot plus WRs who can't catch and try to make them DB's or something. Even though he had all those catches the Seahawks really shut down D. Thomas compared to what the Broncos did all year. Big difference for a guy like Thomas going up against a big Physical corner instead of a small cover guy. Which even though I am in the 49ers TV Market. I still like to see the team with the big bad Defense win. Get tired of this Flag football stuff where guys are missing tackles like crazy. Congrats to the Seahawks for winning they didn't get any handouts.

Re: NFL Season 2013 has begun

Seattle is the first NFL team to apply what I see in the SEC in college football.

Quick, athletic players who hit and dont miss tackles.

SEC is the best conference of them all proven by winning championships year after year.

SEC go after big strong athletic players and not some 6'2" 350 lineman who cannot run at all.

They would rather have a 6'2" 225 pound beast who can run around any offensive player at any time.

Denvers game plan sucked badly. Those short crossing and slants were not working at Seattles D was on top of them and Denver never made a change.

Give Seattle credit but also watch the routes Thomas, Thomas and Decker ran, they allowed Seattle players to stay in front of them. Welker was the only one to run a decent route and get free many times.

On the interception of the tipped ball that was ran back to a TD, look at Denvers receiver. He was standing there and allowed the Seattle player to go get the ball and he did nothing.

Seattle also wanted it more.

The interview before the game with Denver WR Decker was pitiful as he came across that he was not so sure about their chances.

Seattle players interviewed said we worked to get here and we are going home with the trophy.

nyc, you predicted it close :)

Man, that was a lopsided affair - Denver had nothing going at all...giving up a safety and a kickoff TD return?!? Too funny for the failure

Re: NFL Season 2013 has begun

Pure class when Peyton Manning right after the game ended went directly to Richard Sherman and asked him how his ankle was doing.

Denver players were uneasy and not prepared. Simple as that.

Seattle was loose and wanted it more.

Re: NFL Season 2013 has begun

Manning takes his losses with grace but yes, Seattle was quick and hungrier - studied Broncos well and owned them...no chance. The end.

Lets see how the draft comes into play as I am hoping your 49ers rsot will draft a pocket QB like the UCF QB.

As a 49ers fan. Would basically trade my entire draft to get Bortles. As of right now I would be shocked if he wasn't a top 5 pick.

Being from Florida and knowing about him early on he was groomed early and should have went to Florida or Florida State but still has everyones eyes open.

Big, strong and a pocket passer SF needs.

Possible. But I think Jaguars will move before any other Franchise. Been talk about the Raiders moving back to LA for along time as well the Chargers. Two CA teams stuck in old Multi Sport stadiums that have been trying to get a new stadium deal for a decade now.

Where do you think the Jaguars headed?

Yes, forgot about the Rams move - hit to St. Louis

If the Jaguars had a stadium deal in place in L.A. I am sure they would be gone. It is such a big market not to have a NFL team. I think whichever team can get to L.A. first will be gone. Then you might start hearing about possible moves to other cities.

I know the Bills have been rumored in recent years to possibly be on the move as well. Especially with the uncertainty when their owner who I believe is over 90 years old. It is kind of a similar situation with the Raiders. Even though AL Davis is gone his wife is the owner of the team the Son runs it. She is also way up there in age. So nobody knows if Mark Davis can keep the team with the estate taxes and everything else.

St. Louis for being such a great baseball city it is unbelievable how poorly the Rams and Professional basketball have done there.

Just proves how front office people run things differently. Cards front office always has made good decisions other then on Mark McGwire.

I see the Colts, Chiefs and Niners making some major moves to get key players in the draft.

Cincy will do their normal thing and get top picks and waste them away on horrible players who do not pan out well.

Seattle was the best team this year. I do think given just how absolutely horrendous the AFC Playoffs were and how exposed each game was with all the poor tackling. The Hawks, 49ers and Panthers had the best teams.

It is interesting because all the talk in recent years was about how much of a passing league this has become; well Defense won out.

I will say also if there was a 7th team in the Playoffs and the Cardinals had gotten in with their 10 wins. They very could have went on a run and had a few upsets in the postseason.

I dont think they could hang with the best of the group yet.

SF gets a decent QB it would be hard for them not to win it all.

I think they are far better then Seattle overall. But, you have a HS Qb running the team.
