Both where the A's and the Warriors play is right next to one of the worst places in Oakland. "Felix the Cat" Mitchell use to have his drug ring just blocks away. |

Westbrook is a nice player. But Guards are a dime a dozen in the NBA. Harden is a big time scorer who get to the line all the time. Honestly I can't believe the Thunder were that stupid. Making that deal if you ever listen to Durant probably cost them any chance of ever resigning him. |
| Sandy D | 02-25-2014 04:34 PM | re: NBA Followers & other Ball sports (NCAA too) I agree. Thunder needed his style of playing to get them to the next level.
Now I do not think they have a player who can step up and score consistently when Durant is held or having a bad night.
Miami wins because of James but they win rings because someone else steps up any time they need it. OKC does not have that player any longer. |
re: NBA Followers & other Ball sports (NCAA too) They couldnt keep playing together though I had thought |

Thought we would see the Bulls, Thunder, Mavs make some moves.
Bulls got a deal with Turner but still not enough. |

The pacers got turner, not the bulls.
My money is on Indiana this year or the thunder. |

Thunder wont go anywhere, they need another solid player and just lost Perkins.
Indiana needs a big man, Hibbert cannot handle most centers on good teams. |

Indiana needs a big man, Hibbert cannot handle most centers on good teams. | Heat vs Pacers is a lock in the East. The East sucks overall. The West is another story. Lots of potential upsets based on Matchups. I am a Warriors fan if the face certain teams (Clippers, Portland, Phoneix) they could advance. Rocket, Thunder, Spurs all prove different issues to different teams. I don't see any clear cut teams in the West. If Memphis get back in and Gasol is healthy that could be a hell of a problem for some teams.
The West really is the Wild West. I like certain teams but each team has such different strengths. You might as well just flip a coin. With my Warriors it is all about how healthy will Bogut be. |

re: NBA Followers & other Ball sports (NCAA too) 32-26 as of date...top of the Atlantic conference but...in the East, which - as you stated - does suck overall |

GS does not have enough rebounding strong men to get deep into the playoffs. Hitting 3s all game long does not win championships. |

The West is going to be wild. The Rockets have a ton of talent. They could be the wild card in the whole thing. I still won't even count out the Mavericks. They surprised everyone a few years ago by winning. As long as they have Dirk they could go on a run as well.
My guess is even the first round with the 1 playing 8 seed and 2 playing 7 seed in the West are going to be 6 game series. Heat and Pacers will probably sweep their respective series. |

Having Oden gives the Heat that big bruiser in the middle that can take up space.
I believe a three peat is coming unless someone gets real lucky. |

Has more skills then Jordon just need to put up more years of doing what he is doing to get up there.
If his health is good, 3-4 more years and I see him being as equal if not passing MJ.
And I always said no other player in NBA history did what MJ did overall.
Then comes Lebron.
Bigger, stronger, more physical, great defense etc. Total package.
Had he left Cleveland 2 year earlier he would have been moving right up to being close already. Staying there has hurt him. |
| Sandy D | 03-04-2014 03:00 AM | re: NBA Followers & other Ball sports (NCAA too) 61 with a broken nose and cannot breathe correctly.
Not too shabby. |
| glacier922 | 03-04-2014 03:07 AM | re: NBA Followers & other Ball sports (NCAA too) I still say Kobe and lbj > Jordan. Didn't like all 3 of them, but yea, scoring ability, Kobe. All around player, lbj. Call me crazy, but I always thought Jordan was overhyped for ads like Nike.
He had lots of favored calls, such as that one shot he made over the jazz. Used his hands to push off. I was like wtf was that? That's an offensive foul!
But yea, top 2 players has to be Kobe and lbj.
I'm not going to say where Jordan ranks. There's tons of other good players u can make an argument for. What about Kareem? Magic? Bird? Malone? Kareem and Malone are the top 2 in overall scoring, way ahead of Jordan.
I don't know, I wasn't as big on Jordan as everyone else. |

I think James could have played at a high level in the late 80's and early 90's. Not so sure the Kobe could of. Kobe was given a long time to develop because Shaq another player I couldn't stand. Was so dominant. I swear that man got mugged every game for about 6 years. |
| glacier922 | 03-04-2014 03:42 AM | re: NBA Followers & other Ball sports (NCAA too) @vogeltron
Who got mugged every 6 years? About Kobe crying for not having fouls, that's one of the reasons why I think Kobe is better than Jordan. Kobe got hacked tons of times and I didn't see a call. Went to 7 finals appearances, won 5. Jordan went to 6, won 6. Kobe had a better FT%, don't know about overall fg% yet, but yea, Kobe had the 81 point game. There are more stats I can use to back me up, but I don't feel like looking it up. LOL. But just on those alone, most people say it's close. I'll say Kobe is way better than Jordan.
And no, I can't stand Kobe either. I was rooting for Sacramento during the WCF against the Lakers that year. |

I mean the guy got fouled nearly every time he touched the ball. Kobe is cry baby. He forced Shaq out then complained he never had any players. Lebron James personally carried the Cavaliers for years to the NBA Finals and deep in the Playoffs. He never had any help in Cleveland and when he left the team had the worst record in basketball.
I don't know how to compare Jordan and Lebron. But James is way way way more important to any team than Kobe will ever dream of being. Not to mention Kobe was always a black hole. Forcing up dumb shots, etc. James always has his teammates involved very good passer. |
re: NBA Followers & other Ball sports (NCAA too) Managed to watch the highlights of the 61 game - that was impressive...especially with the 3s |
| Cobra commander | 03-04-2014 08:23 AM | re: NBA Followers & other Ball sports (NCAA too) Whether you like him or don't like him that's one thing but anyone who says Jordan isn't the greatest player ever doesn't know basketball. Period. |
| Sandy D | 03-04-2014 01:38 PM | re: NBA Followers & other Ball sports (NCAA too) I research list of the greatest players ever and Jordon was no 1 on them all.
2 through 10 were mixed.
Kobe was only mentioned one time at no 9 on any of them.
Kobe is not even in my top 25. His early rings were handed to him by Shaq.
Do not forget, Jordon was in Chicago and started the ball rolling why Kobe benefited by being in LA.
Kobe in the same place as Jordon would be lucky to get a ring.
Lebron has the overall skills far better then any player I have ever watched play the game. So many things he can do in every category that no other player has or can do.
He can shut down anyone. Can rebound with anyone. Can run a fast break. Can score anywhere on the floor. Just so much he can do that other players can or could not do.
LOL Kareem should never be on any list. One trick pony. Lazy, do not get to half court to play defense most of the game. He should not be listed on the same page as Russell or Chamberlain. |
