Things have been clicking for my Giants the past few weeks. Go figure. Petit breaking the Record for most consecutive outs. Go figure. I am hoping the can chase down the Dodgers but who knows.

I have been to Coors field multiple times. It is an absolutely beautiful field and great ballpark. But the way baseball is played there is more like a Softball game than a Baseball game. Always crazy scoring games there.

rsot 09-03-2014 04:15 AM

Never been to Coors field - would be nice to see

Solid sweep of the Rays by the Jays

Sucky loss to the Red Sox last night...bah

Another loss - Wildcard spot is likely gone

San Fran Giants are ripping it up!

So Blue Jays now become team with longest playoff drought with KC Royals qualifying for postseason play.

Who is going to win it all...

That was a THRILLER of an AL Wildcard game! Let's hope for a good one between SF and Pirates

That game with the a's and royals was insane that was so far out that it will probably be the game of the year!

The players of those teams and the fans will never forget that game WOW!

Re: 2014 MLB Season getting close

The fans really got their money's worth - I was shocked...figured A's would win this

Epic Collapse by the A's. Congratulations to the Royals after 29 years you deserve a Playoff win. Billy Beane and the whole "money ball" and "saber-metrics" is a joke. Having a background in statistics if you had half a brain you would have kept Cespedes and started Gray or Samardzija. Probably would have never tanked if it wasn't for the Lester trade. Beane should be fired for this. The mad Genius who made one to many moves. What a joke. I hate the A's and I fell out of my chair when they traded Cespedes. What a moron he must be drinking the Kapernick lose you mind I am an idiot Cool Aid.

@vogeltron, the Cespedes movement was an odd one, agree.

SF blew out the Pirates - sent them packing

I like other sports and teams. But I am a S.F. Giants fan that is the only team across and sport I truly bleed for. Was a great win. Bumgarner was amazing as he has been in past postseason victories. The Giants have a depleted roster with injuries. But as they and other teams have proven in the playoffs it is who gets how at the right time.

Bruce Boachy as much as he drives me crazy not bunting over runners etc. He is a Master of match ups with the bullpen etc. The Nationals are extremely good. That 5 game series is going to be interesting.

You're right - the series will be intense ...especially with SFs recent years of playoff success....the matchups are going to be very interesting

And the AL continues with battering of Tigers by Orioles

The Giants and Cardinals have played in many close playoff games the past several years. The experience really showed today.

Again, like every year. The Tigers starting pitching is Awesome. When they get to the bullpen it is horrible.

Re: 2014 MLB Season getting close

Cardinals came back - what an explosion of 8 runs. Royals are taking it hard to the Angels.

Re: 2014 MLB Season getting close

18 Innings Giants over the Nats. They absolutely stole that game. Unreal how the Giants play in the postseason it is like a team that seems to refuse to lose. Will see how the final games play out.

6 1/2 Hours of baseball was absolutely Torture. So happy my Giants got the win. Will be interesting to see how Bumgarner in game 3 vs Fister.

rsot 10-05-2014 07:44 AM

Re: 2014 MLB Season getting close

Nats down 2-0 - going to be something to see how they can avoid elimination.

Royals are such a grinding team - what a treat for the fans!

Re: 2014 MLB Season getting close

the first game of the series with the angels and royals was intense the royals outfielders were playing so well you would have thought they torii hunter and willie mays out there the outfielders is why they have won the first 2 games especially the first game.

Giants lose. Cardinals win.

Wow Carpenter with another HR. Crazy how playoff games go.

rsot 10-07-2014 05:04 AM

Carpenter is on fire.

I wonder if Nationals can come all the way back...

I wonder.

This is like the 4th time these two have met in the NLCS in the past 25 years. 1987, 2002, 2012 now 2014.

Yes, they are powerhouse dynasties...a symbol of what works for NL baseball

Royals keep doing it...they love their extra innings hah

Nice to see my Giants take game 1. Royals keep just getting it done. They are on a roll.

Re: 2014 MLB Season getting close

Giants pitching was dominating + Cardinal errors, which - while rare- occurred at a time that was not best haha

Was at Game 3. Giants scored in the first Inning it was really exciting then they didn't do jack and the Cardinals came back. Walk Off Bunt in the 10th.

Giants formula for winning basically is just stick around until the other teams screws up.

rsot 10-15-2014 03:20 AM

Re: 2014 MLB Season getting close

Giants are both patient and grinding...

Royals are taking it hard to the Orioles - very surprising.

Royals are likely to make it through but would be interesting for an epic Orioles comeback...

WOOO!!!! Giants back in the World Series. YES YES YES!!!!

Pure ownage of Cardinals by the Giants.

Going to be a good one ...Giants vs Royals...wonder if the good luck of Royals will continue...

As a Giants fan I will admit when it comes to the Playoffs. This has been one of the luckiest teams ever. Brooks Conrad in 2010 with the Braves booting the balls. Gold Glover Scott Rolen booting the ball in game 3 of of NLDS in 2012. 2012 Zito pitching the game of his life in St. Louis. Unreal how things have worked out for the giants over the past 5 years.

For all I know or anyone knows God favors them for whatever reason. In 2010 I though well this is an unlikely team. In 2012 I was like they won all the elimination games but they still have solid pitching.

2014: No Matt Cain, Tim Lincecum sucks they pitched Petit who was amazing multiple times over him. Like Ishikawa, Petit, Vogelsong all grabbed off Baseball lost and found list the past few seasons.

There formula is simple. Play good enough to stay in the game. Then wait for the other team to screw it up. That is why they are in the World Series. They should have really not got past the nationals. That 18 inning game 2 was over in the 9th but Matt Williams (whom I love as a Giants Fan) was an idiot and took Zimmerman out of the game. Stole one there, stole game 3 of the NLCS with the walk off bunt.

Unreal how things just seemingly work out for the Giants and Bruce Boachy makes all the right calls. The World Series should be awesome.

2010...2012...2014...Giants are so steady, it's sick haha.

And they squeaked in this year as a Wild Card as well...

Re: 2014 MLB Season getting close

The Royals have done something that no other team has ever done in the history of baseball there record will never be beat and probably never tied.

And that is 8 straight consective playoff wins going undefeated in the playoffs!......WOW

If they sweep the san francisco midgets that would make 12 in a row. I wouldn't be surprised if Hollywood made a movie about it.

Re: 2014 MLB Season getting close

I think vogeltron's team will execute...Giants are powerful. I have money riding on game 1 for "the fun of it"

It begins tonight hah
