NFL/NCAA Football Talk - 2014-15 Season

We are seeing the NFL news about minicamps, players, the schedules etc so we are getting primed for the NFL season.

Lets talk some football. NFL or NCAA.

Johnny Manziel
- Hit or miss for the Browns?

Alabama- Reloaded and ready to go again?

Florida St. - Problem child Jamieus Winston should have been suspended the first time when he had problems and now she steals food from a grocery store.

I am teetering about Manziel...either he will have his moment and shine or he will wrecked and career-ending injury...

What I see is the Broncos and Patriots loading up.

SFran has so many internal issues I dont know if they can get past them.

Kapernick is a joke. Gabbert will be starting by the end of the season. NFC West is going to be tough. Rams and Cardinals have been catching up in the old School Soviet style Arms race.

Broncos going to stay strong - just need to finish it

Why cant SF staff see he will never takes them to a Super Bowl win?

With the players they have they dont need a running QB, they need a strong arm pocket passer.

SF will take few years to realize this - maybe 2 more runs into playoffs...we shall see

I dunno if they will make the Playoffs. The cost of winning catches up quick.
Not having Gohlston hurt them last year. Whitner is going. I mean Betha is a solid player but not as good in my opinion. Bowman is out for a while and Aldon Smith is going to miss the entire year. Who knows what Frank Gore has left.

The NFC West is no joke now. Rams are better, Cardinals are getting better. (Should have got another QB though). I don't see the 49ers coasting to the playoffs.

As of right now. I think the Panthers are poised to be the best team in NFC.

Panthers - wow what do you see in them that makes them particularly the best?

Re: NFL/NCAA Football Talk - 2014-15 Season

Early prediction is for Denver to win it all.

Much better defense as they had holes that needed filled.

I dont think Seattle could beat them back to back with this team at all.

Green Bay is going downhill fast.

Dallas needs a QB.

Sf has the talent but wasting time with CK.

Dont know who really would come out of the west other then Seattle but dont think they are as good as people think in my opinion. They were hungry and peaked at the right time.

They do it like Reid did in Philly before things blew up. Build good teams through the draft. They have a tougher schedule with AFC West playing NFC West this season.

Kaepernick hasn't given anything up to indicate he can't bring 49ers to a SB win.

He's had an extremely successful career as a starter thus far. I've seen Eli Manning get benched at the point in his career that CK is at now, only to go on and take two rings with the same team.

He has a healthy Crabtree, along with Boldin, and now Stevie Johnson which will be very interesting once the two start to click on the field more. He didn't have these weapons last season. If he just improves on his reads, combined with this beefed up WR core and his natural athletic abilities to throw and run the ball, he can get the job done.

The OC Greg Roman scares me sometimes. I don't have complete faith in him.

49ers defense took a hit with Aldon and Bowman gone for the first half, the secondary looks suspect sometimes… the offense will need to do its job this season for sure. I'm okay with Harbaugh putting all his chips on CK. Really looking forward to this season.

Solid win by the Seahawks - green and blue...snazzy colours hah

Re: NFL/NCAA Football Talk - 2014-15 Season

my team is SF 49ers. Red and Gold all the way… really itching for a sixth ring.

Seahawks are looking fantastic. It's hard to grab a win in Seattle for anyone, but Seattle really dominates all aspects of the game. Their play-calling is on point. Being in the same division as them is tough.

What's your team rsot?

49ers are my team too :thumb:
GB was my team in high school since...well...my highschool team were named Packers hah but that choice got replaced and loyalty changed shortly after high school

good to know! can't wait for game 1 vs cowboys! hope kaep silences the critics of his pocket passing. Our D is wearing thin with injuries and suspensions. Offense really needs to shine! Kaep has the weapons to get it done this season. Hope he meets my expectations!

Solid thrashing of the Cowboys $$$ - never stood a chance.

Solid game plays through the NFL - few upsets too...

Tony Romo is a sucks. Dallas has a horrendous Defense. As a 49ers fan they were running the ball over them in the first half. The Defense is completed depleted without Smith and Bowman.

I would not be jumping up and down. A win is a win in the NFL but this team is far from what it was 2-3 years ago. Sooner than later going to 3 NFC Championship games in a row catches up with a teams ability to keep their talent.

49ers are now on par with the Packers. Their offense will need to win games because the defense is not there anymore.

Somewhat true - the defense may not cut it well so the offense must deliver...hard

Re: NFL/NCAA Football Talk - 2014-15 Season

our secondary played fantastic, our line was a little shaky. No bowman, no aldon smith. It's understandable. The previous few seasons our line was where the D shined, and the secondary was meh.

A TD scored on a forced fumble, Reids interception brought back to the 1 yard line, Patrick Willis's interception in the end zone. Perrish Cox intercepting the deep pass to Bryant. Okay, you can say Romo sucks, but those are big plays you need to give the D credit for in any league.

It's not gonna be as pretty when you play against a better offense, but I was expecting much worse from the 49ers defense.
