| | | aking | 01-16-2015 02:51 PM | PC for running Accounts Thinking about investing in a new PC to operate my accounts. Need some ideas of PCs/Laptops/Tablets, etc. that are working well for others.
It would be nice to operate my accounts while on the go.
What do you guys use? |
| slokor | 01-16-2015 02:52 PM | Re: PC for running Accounts I use several laptops.
My favorite is the Samsung Series 9. Top of the line configuration. |
Re: PC for running Accounts Lenovo K450, kind of expensive but extremely fast & reliable |

| yotano211 | 01-16-2015 09:08 PM | Re: PC for running Accounts 1st, tell us what kind of set up or computer you currently use.
I had a HP elitebook 8460p but I upgraded to a Levono y410p. The HP is built like a tank, its a business grade laptop, but its very heavy for a 14 inch laptop. So I upgraded to a y410p, much lighter but it has so much plastic.
The HP was much slower than the Lenovo processor wise but both have a SSD hard drive. The SSD hard drive really makes both laptops shine, it makes switching from user account to user accounts much faster.
If you dont have lots of funds, get any cheap laptop. Even one from a Core duo days, install a SSD drive and that should work just perfectly. |
| slokor | 01-16-2015 11:52 PM | Re: PC for running Accounts I agree.
No matter what laptop or desktop you decide to go with - make sure you switch the Harddrive to a SSD one. It speeds things up a great deal. |

| aking | 01-18-2015 10:01 AM | Re: PC for running Accounts Thanks guys, I'll look into that Levono |
| yotano211 | 01-18-2015 10:56 AM | Re: PC for running Accounts Dont look into any Levono or computer, you really need to sit down and make a budget.
I bought both laptops used but in great condition. I upgraded some parts myself when I got them. With the HP I upgraded the processor and hard drive. With the Levono, I simply upgraded the hard drive and extra memory for the empty memory slot for dual channel. But that only works if you are comfortable with upgrading computers. Its not hard.
I will send you to the forums below in the link. If you want a desktop, they have a desktop forums too. This section is for what kind of laptop should you get. The people on there know everything about laptop, the desktop forums are also the same. http://forum.notebookreview.com/what...-should-i-buy/ |

I need to see how much they are first haha. And I see they're not cheap. I'm not big into changing out hard drives, although I do know how to do it. I like to buy the laptop ready to go.
I really want to stay in the $200-$400 range, I don't need much. Just something with a little speed and that will allow me to change user names fast.
I was even going to look into the HP laptop that you can take the screen off and turn into a tablet. |

I have always used laptops.
I want to ask somone who would know how user profiles can you put on windows 7 or windows 8?
Because I have 98 user profiles on my computer right now using windows vista and everytime I add one it does not show at all on my login username screen.
So please someone who knows please answer how many user profiles can you put on windows 7 or windows 8? |
Re: PC for running Accounts I have an old P4 with Windows XP - runs on my dialup operations...nuff said. Works well (one my tools in the arsenal) |
| aking | 02-09-2015 08:14 PM | Re: PC for running Accounts Why is picking a laptop so difficult, lol. Need a good general purpose laptop under $500. |
Re: PC for running Accounts i have Lenova 18inc and 1 teribite meomory. the fastest machine i had. great for everything |
| slokor | 02-09-2015 11:17 PM | Re: PC for running Accounts If you have a 1TB harddrive it is more than likely not a SSD.
Trust me when I say that if you switch it to a SSD youre computer's performance/speed will improve by at least 50%.
Well worth the investment. |

Any tips or tricks you use? | Honestly... and obviously if you're looking for an all to pc.. This isn't it as you wont be able to store many templates and pictures. Aside from your other programs ect.
BUT.. if this is strictly for stealth, youll be fine. Notepad, excel, and browsers only.
I just think it'll be difficult to manage more than 10 usernames on this.. but please do not hold me to it as i have not attempted. |

| aking | 02-14-2015 12:59 AM | Re: PC for running Accounts Acer Aspire came today. I think it will work for running stealth accounts, but this thing is TINY. I may need to get something a bit bigger. |

I have an entire desk in my office dedicated to this contraption. What that really means is that my office is to big and I am too lazy to transfer to a tower or another laptop. I am concluding it is a combination of both. |

| aking | 02-14-2015 11:59 PM | Re: PC for running Accounts Everything is working well. Got all my user accounts set up on the new laptop and my Mifi dongle with 2 free months. This thing changes IP addresses super fast and the new laptop reboot is fast well. Love being able to switch between accounts in about 10-15 seconds. |

| Haidukken | 02-17-2015 04:24 AM | Re: PC for running Accounts Go nice and stable, get a Macbook.
I run both Macbook and Samsung 7 series Ultra and I hate my Samsung.
I've had the Macbook for 3 years without any problems and I bought the Samsung a year ago and out of those 12 months, it's been back and forth between warranty repairs for solid 6. The thing just falls apart after 6 months. |
