on the first week of sign up i had about 3 sales which has steadily increased to about 15 to 20 a week, i know it doesn't sound much but as an example i sold something last week for £1300 gbp that only brings £500 on the bay
Just sold something else this week for 2k that would brought about £600 on the bay if it doesn't get pulled first, everything i have sold is listed for at least twice the amount i have it for on ebay .

shipping is to international customers and i don't worry about that cost of shipping as its well covered in the price of the item but to be honest i even over charge the shipping fees.

Just set up my second account too

the only downside "if you can call it that" is some people order and don't want to pay when they realise your from another country, since joining i have had it happen about 8 times, if you can live with that its all win

its like ebay in the old days, love it.

they allow dropshipping for bob manually approved sellers.

however it would be real easy to do for us that are not from S.A

I have a few things listed on there that i do not have in my possession.

In fact my new second account is for just that, I'm just listing things that are next day delivery on ebay, amazon and u.k websites, oh and Argos, so if it sells on bob as soon as i am paid i will order the item and get it next day or the day after then send it over to S.A who's to know apart from us.

remember we get paid first and have to book the collection.

Money for nothing if you ask me.

Yeah, the rules are easily avoided for us. That's funny how we can resell stuff for good profits that you get in Argos :D

No one is buying any of my stuff though; I think it's because I have 0 feedback :(

True but I do that on Ebay anyway, Amazo* is a very reliable dropshipper

I will use Amazo* prime to get my items delivered to me next day, then ship.

What's the best way to start?, selling fairly low price items?, or can you go in selling £200 items for example?

i just listed anything and everything from 40-4000 pounds across as many category's as i could to get noticed, i listed everything twice so i have something ending every day over the 30 days your allowed to list
i also listed some downloads for a low price that i had a good idea would sell, i also purchased a few web templates and some other downloads to build feedback

i also purchased a domain and hosting, built a quick website and called my bob account after that domain and it also give me a professional looking email, to give people the confidence that they are dealing with a genuine company

Buy some things to build feedback, good things come to those who wait

Good thinking. I'm gonna list a ton of stuff today and see what happens.

I see that to become verified you must supply them with South African ID, is that right?

However, if you register with f*ke details and cannot send verification when requested, you will be shut down (BoB quickly get rid of potential scammers, and using f*ke details spells scam. Remember, this is not ebay where accounts get closed for no reason, BoB will not close an account without very good reason. So using f*ake details is a big red flag there).

Use your legitimate details, legitimate passport number and address, and you will have a smooth ride with no hassles.

Also, due to BoB being a more localized site, f*ke photoshop edits of passport and utility bill will NOT work for verification. Unlike ebay who dont have the staff requirements to verify details due to the large number of people needed to be verified, BoB DO verify details and DO inspect documents thoroughly. If the copy of your passport looks suspect you will be requested to send a full colour, notorized copy (almost impossible to do on PS, unless you really are a PS expert). If you are using ⊗⊗⊗⊗ details, you will be shut down as you will not be able to provide such.

Stay legit, and your account will run smoothly for a lifetime. Try to f*ake anything, and you will be shut down before you can ask "what happened".

Above all remember, this is NOT ebay. You do NOT need to run f*ake accounts and stealth methods. BoB is a close community and f*ke accounts wont last you even one sale on most occasions. There is no need to f*ake on BoB as legit sellers are respected, not given the boot. Both local and international sellers are treated with the same respect.
Word.

Also regarding documents, they have a specialist company to verify.

Note: bidorbuy has outsourced the verification of Identification Documents, Credit Checks and Criminal Checks to LexisNexis Risk Management (I-Digital).

Post OfficeĀ® | Counter services | Passports & identity | Identity checking service

Take a utility/bank + ID along with photocopies, they will then stamp/sign the photocopies, you then email them to BoB.

Tizwoz i'm wondering how on earth you got verified.

I got an email from BOB saying they needed some ID, I promptly sent. They then said my account had been fully activated. I asked about being verified and they said that due to them needing to carry out criminal checks, they would need a South African ID.
