I spent an hour on ebay and there is just no place for a paid classified that I can see.

Just free local under classifieds

When I create a listing in ebay the option is not there

I've used it...just recently and I got only 1 person contact me regarding the item. But the item was sold on Craigslist already...I like Craigslist better than Ebay Classifieds...

Not sure about the paid ads. But the free ones on ebay are useless. 2 weeks, 2 views...

Not worth the time

CL is better for sure

Have you ever tried advertising your sites, etc. like we talked about doing with eBay classifieds? What sort of views are you getting? When did eBay Classifieds become Kijiji?

Not Kijiji. I've done CL with ok results. Post in a few cities. There are always some losers that report ad because they think they are internet guardians.

Its quit a bit of hassle really. You almost need to do it daily or ad gets buried. I do it once a week.

I'm not sure when eBay Classifieds became Kijiji, but I think the results I was referring to previously were written about the time before that. So those results should be equally valid on Kijiji, give it a try and let me know your views. Have you ever used Facebook to promote your sites/products?

Kijiji is like CL. Based on cities. Too much crap posting all over. Time is better spent elsewhere I think

I was thinking about looking into facebook. Google works well but the costs really get up there. I wonder how expensive facebook ads are compared to google

If it's like CL then yes I agree, time is better spent elsewhere. In my opinion the PPC on facebook is not worth it, charts show it to be very erratic at the best of times and social media is generally not profitable for businesses. The thing is, if someone is searching for something specific on Google and your ad pops up that fits in with what they are looking for then it's likely a solid lead. Facebook however, people aren't really often looking for your specific product or service or there to spend money, they're likely busy focusing on something else and zone out the ads, and the only ones they may click on would be the very general universal ads that stand out. Even if they do the end result is likely no sale.

I was actually thinking about a facebook page to promote.

That was my thinking. I'm on facebook every day and have never once clicked on a ad

I think business pages are more for existing customers. And I personally find them useless. Just my personal look on them, but I think they fall under the same as above. People on facebook are looking a drunk pictures or whatever, not shopping

My point exactly. That's why facebook is really struggling to find a business model, I think if they focused more on their virtual currency and other such that would be the way to go, sooner or later the advertising is going to crumble or they'll just start bombarding us with ads as opposed to the fairly unobtrusive ads sprinkled in at the moment, in favor of revenue. On the other hand, a page for your business costs nothing and if it means a couple more sales then it was worth it.

Alright everybody!

My 2 cents, ever hear of google adwords, of course you have! Well you probably know you can get 100 coupons for around 5 bucks from hackers. In the same sense...you are getting MORE MONEY from LESS MONEY.

My idea is go on eBay with a seller's account. List like 50-100 classified ads on eBay all driving traffic to your website, then when they want to see the check at the end of the month say FOOK YOU ebay and FOOK YOU pp!

Just stiff the fees and make another account. Decent idea?
