Not that Rubylane is so good these days. Overdone itself with pricing etc.

@rsot

If they do not want to revamp, they can take the loss of traffic.

My guess is that they think that an antiques marketplace needs to look old.

So I'm curious, you all must be spreading the funds throughout multiple sites. Most these sites go through PP. So if PP see you selling on all these websites wouldn't they have a problem with it or try to limit you?

It is not a problem,,Also, you do not really need to accept Paypal,,a regular merchant account or Google wallet will do nicely for a Vast majority of sites

If you approach your PP account like PP is TRYING to limit you, your operation will fail. PP is not out to get you unless your operations are risky in their eyes - there are ways to avoid that evil eye.

Now that being said, slapped is right - I am a fan of avoiding PP unless abso-fugging-lutely necessary

This goes back to how you create and run accounts.

ebay/paypal are one way of doing business.

For those of us who have expanded, we use other means of payment too.

We avoid being the victim of paypal.

You can't access it through a regular browser, you need the Tor Browser and the actual address.

There are a dozen copy cats after Silk was exposed. On top of that, people have been getting busted so tip toe for those of you keeping it Silky.

Locally started sites can take a while to get moving.

Reminds me a little of quicksales ( from Australia).

Have friends selling there. Must follow-up for some info.

If you sell legal things on there, you're not breaking the law.

You have to be super duper anonymous on there.

Your own website is also a good investment. It is more technical work but and it is slower to ramp up but once you have found your niche, having a well optimized sites with organic SEO, you can get daily orders without spending a dime on ads, fees.

There are lots of sites but they get no traffic. Ioffer can get you marginal traffic from my experience. If you sell custom stuff ESTY can be ok. Other than that at least in the US you are pretty much out of luck. Might be a few sites for a niche market here and there. But overall unless you sell on eBay or have products compatible with Amazon. Really not worth the time.
