Ebay sent out 1099s to Ssn rather than ein for any business ran under sole proprietor or single member llc . They had never done this before but with new tax laws coming into effect, they decided to send 1099ks to ssn. Many sellers are complaining about this, seemed to be an eBay fckup

I never understand why anyone would let other use their SSN to run a business,it complicates his tax return,it is more than just reporting the sales receipt,if he is ever audited by the state auditor,it opens a can of worms . Quote:

My accountant has a medical doctor who makes $2 million/year,when he went to file his return,IRS said it has already been filed and $80 tax refund has been issued.

It turns out a guy who used to work for this doctor stole his SSN and filed a return,pocketing the $80,he must have way to cash that check? |
