Highwhey, I've used your method with my D-link modem router and it works a treat. However when I try the same on my Siemens SE587 supplied by Tiscali I can't find the username to make the alteration. Does anyone have experience on altering the Siemens?

Unless a previous owner changed it. If so, hit the reset button for 30 seconds and keep it pressed while you plug it back in, keep holding for 5 more seconds and release it while leaving power connected. Everything should be reset to factory defaults at that point.

Example: user name is highwhey@qwest.net, what I do is change a character, i.e: Highwhey@qwest.net, all I did was capitalize the H. Once I do that I click next, then save and restart(modem reboots) and I have a new Ip Address. This method is the easiest for me, no disconnecting Ethernet cables and switching out routers. Simple and easy. Of course, I may have a different ISP than you. Good luck.
>>> Okay so I recently purchased the Stealth Book and glad I did since it provides a lot of detailed information which was really helpful. I was doing great like a pro until I got to the change you IP address section which after reading over and over again didn't help me to change my WAn MAC ADDRESS. I have Qwest and when you go to the routers configurations it shows you the wan mac but nowhere in the entire application does it allow you to change it so I went back to the forum and did a search for qwest ip help and this is where it brought me. According to some of the people in this site managing your QWest ips and keeping track of them is done by making changes to the dsl email instead of the WAN MAC address which drove me nuts trying to change.... I am going to try this now and I will update the forum with the result. Just a thought to the ASPKIN that it would be nice if this was added to the book since Qwest is a big internet provider in the United States and would prevent confusion during the IP changing... other than that I am making good progress and am thankful to have such a helpful forum.
