OK I have a question about
VPN use in general. I just bought my 2nd 24vc
VPN for a second stealth account and I am happy with it, I can login from anywhere, I use each stealth and it's
VPN on separate user account on my laptop, so all good.
So the other day I had to pay a traffic ticket I received travelling out of state and so I logged on to the website for the Commonwealth of Virginia and it said access denied. I realized I was on one of my VPNs, so I disconnected from that and then was able to pay the ticket no problem. And I've noticed this too with one other website, that I couldn't use their site when on a
VPN. In fact, 24vc.com itself, when I initially signed up, said for security measures I couldn't sign up when connected by VPN.
I understand why websites take these measures, perhaps somebody fradulent is trying to hide their identity because they could be up to no good.
But my question is, if this is the case that websites can detect that someone is using a VPN, then why would eBay and PayPal just not allow people to use VPNs?
I get that getting an account linked to another account is only an issue at the point when one account goes down, because then any account linked can go down as well. But if just using any VPN (whether a free service that could have many people have used it and not recommended for stealth OR a fresh clean one by a provider such as 24vc.com that works and if recommended for stealth) -- just using any VPN, can be detected by website admins, then why does eBay/PayPal even allow their use at all?
It just seems like what seems like a perfect solution (24vc or IP Burger, etc. for
eBay Stealth) could easily come crashing down if they wanted it to.
Sure there are legitimate non-stealth uses for VPNs, but they all involve people not wanting it known where they are connecting to the internet from. (Perhaps this is part of the reason why ---- China, maybe, and all the business they bring to eBay?!?)
