Default Ebay Dial-Up to Connect

I am in the process of creating a new account using the dial-up process -- Somebody please tell me if I have the Broadband/DSL normally running on my PC, do I need to disconnect it first before using Dial-up? Will the Dial-up IP address used on AOL "over ride" the regular Broadband DSL IP?
This is of course to bypass the IP showing up as the same on Ebay..

I use dial-up all the time and make sure that the DSL/Wifi access is ALWAYS disconnected. You may not know when dial-up disconnects and your DSL kicks in.

I use show my ip software - it sits in the system tray quietly and if you ip changes, it notifies you - various notification settings and you can check the ip from every 1min upwards.

I actually have 3 different ip checkers running in my sys tray just incase - the one mentioned above, My IP Address and Trueip - handy for me and maybe you - checkem out

I've been using Verizon wireless broadband. It's both a wireless modem and router together. I always disable the wireless access on my computer, then switch to the user account I want to use, then open the Verizon Access Manager, conect the device to my computer using the usb cable, turn on the wireless broadband and connect.

Once connected I always check the ip address and write it down. This has been working great!

You will be fine doing the same thing with your dial up, just make sure that you disable any other possible connection so that you don't reconnect through another route without knowing it, like rsot pointed out.

Vegas.

Totally disconnect broadband and double check "before" you connect to you dialup.

Get an excel spreadsheet started to keep track of your IP addresses so you do not get them mixed up when you use them on different accounts.
