I know plans/prices have changed since JeffWeico posted this last year, but what is the fastest (dynamic) and cheapest/most GB/MB and best Mobile Broadband for Stealth?

Now with Clear in my area, which ones do you guys use or recommend?

Virgin...$40 flat/month for 5GB

but, recently the Optimus V phone from Virgin was rooted with Android 2.2 which has personal hotspot. You can have unlimited data on that phone for $25/month...insane if you are comfortable with android

How long does 5GB last though? Is it enough to manage up to how many accounts? and up to how many hours?

I know I can switch to my regular internet connection when I feel like taking a break or when I go to sleep, but would 5GB last for constant endless hours of account checking and switching and back and forth?

I use Virgin's MiFi boxes. Battery life is around 4-5 hours standard use on one charge. Can do around 40 hours on standby as the device will go into sleep mode if it sees no activity for 5 minutes or so. Uses micro USB to charge.

5GB works great. Verizon and T-Mobile are offering 10GB, but the price is absolutely insane. T-Mobile is releasing their new 4G dongle with an unlimited data plan for $50/month for a limited time, but you said you want prepaid and Virgin was the last company to offer unlimited until the end of February and switched back to 5GB. All I do with my dongles/mifi boxes is surfing, relisting, text based work. Photos are hosted elsewhere so that I'm not uploading anything large to waste my 5GB.

You have 30 days to test the device and you can always monitor your data usage for the entire month. If 5GB isn't enough, T-Mobile's 4G dongle is the last one to offer unlimited, but again, not prepaid.

Only other options are hacked devices. Recently AT&T has started to boot customers with hacked Apple tethering devices, so it won't be long before other companies follow with blocking their customers jailbroken/rooted smartphones. You may still have some time though before the trend is widespread.

Virgin has dominated wireless prepaid service in the US for years and these new plans just got even more aggressive. They piggyback Sprint's Rev. A network so speeds fly inside good signal coverage.

5GB is plenty for managing accounts, not for personal use though if you watch any videos it will get used up pretty quick. I tried virgin mobile mi-fi but took it back since it was to slow for streaming video and only the last number of the ip changed.

Thanks alot! But check this out! I managed to find out users actually get to keep the unlimited option since they bought it before it expired.

Virgin Mobile was not claiming anything about letting people keep the $40 unlimited plan. Perhaps if this was postpaid, but not prepaid.

Now, I just noticed the new $50 unlimited plan, but Virgin throttling your speeds after 2.5GB. This is brand new. I am still paying $40 for the 5GB plan.

As far as last number changing, I will check again, but I didn't think it was like that.

Yeah the one I got from radioshack was like that, I like my verizon blackberry better since you get a whole new ip range each time you log in.

@unkown5454 you make android sound soooooo bad lol, when in reality it is sooooooo good when you can do so much with it out of the box with apps you can only get on apple if you jailbreak, also some of the apps on android are free that apple makes you pay for, nothing wrong with apple though I am growing to like it, in time i'll prob use apple and android for different purposes.

You are Sooo Right about Android,,My ONLY Complaint is that is seems like it cannot support NetFlix,,,other than that its Great,,,

When did I say Android is bad? I have multiple Android devices for tethering, including a Nexus S which cost me $500. I wouldn't spend that kind of money if I was hating on Android. Just have to make sure they are unlocked Google experience devices so you can utilize hotspot for free.

Also, OfficialGenius, my Virgin Mobile MiFi box IPs change every number but the first two EVERY TIME I connect. Maybe you'd get a smaller range of IPs in a more rural city, but I have never had an issue and they are well worth ever penny I have ever spent on them.

Understood @unkown5454, there are alot of people who hate on Android though. I guess its to complicated for them to use it, while apple is just so "simple", it's the same each time.

Haha, nice vid. Android is for nerds, and I am a complete nerd in every sense of the word. Being a nerd is what helped me make it this far with eB ay, and some of my Android devices have truly been my backbone in all of this.

Although, I do have an iPad and Windows Phone 7 device.

Yeah, back in school they make fun of nerds/geeks, but when you're finally out of school, being a nerd can pay off big time, and bring in the money $$$$$$$$, funny how the table turns.
