As long as it is a different ip you will be ok. As far as why this is happening, provide your service provider and the modem that you are using and someone might have an answer.

@ebaywho...what you're describing is perfectly normal. As long as you get a new IP to use, then you are fine with ebay.

Having a different IP each time could just mean that you are logging in from different locations (parents house, friends house, etc.) or you just had a power hit and had to reboot modem.

Ebay cannot (and will not) link you alone based on logging into from a different IP addresses. There are other factors that will link you (web beacons, name, address, etc.).

It could be 1 of 2 reasons that I can think of...

The first thing that comes to mind is lease time. You mentioned there was a 6 hour gap in between your release. This is a long time to retain your IP lease. Every ISP "leases" an IP address to you. Unless you have a sticky IP or a Static IP, these are leased on a short term basis. I typically see a 4 hour lease time.

The 2nd reason is your ISP simply may not have the IP available for you to re-use. Since IPs are leased by ISP's, once you release it, it goes back into their 'pool' of IPs to be used by their customers. They may have already gave it to another user.

Bottom line, as long as you have a new IP, then you are fine.

If you are running mutiple stealth accounts, strongly suggest having different types of access for your IPs.

Remember stealth means no linking

ISPs usually retains them same IP for each MAC address for a short period of time after inactivity. This is normal
