Default Anyone using tmobile hot spot devices? Static or dynamic?

I am looking at the tmobil hot spot devices because my tether with my iphone only rotates 30 ip addresses which is enough to barely share 3 stealth accounts.

SO I was looking into another way to get some more accounts.

Are these devices static or dynamic. How do you reset them to get a new ip? Just turn on and off?

How many ip addresses are you seeing come through? Enough for several accounts or are you repeating ip addresses frequently?

Thanks for the info.

May I ask who the ISP in your area is and why you are unwilling to go that route?

GB is like a detective...she finds all the old threads!

@amysol... have you tried calling Comcast and demanding a standalone modem?

I also have Comcast at my home and it is AWESOME for changing IPs.

I have the Arris TM602G + a Netgear N600 router setup.

Changing IPs is a breeze and the best part...Comcast's IP range is in the 10's of thousands, so chances of getting the same IP are slim to none.

While using dongles might be simplistic for you, I would lean towards this setup above since you already have Comcast/XFinity (and are paying for their service anyway).

The two digit number that I always change is in parentheses (17) above?
Um...what??

I didn't say I had 10's of thousands of IP's...I said Comcast's IP range is in the 10's of thousands.

Actually, to be technical, they have millions of IP's, since they own many /15 and /14 blocks (class A subnets).

Anyway, two totally different things.

Could you explain how to easily change the IP address with the setup you describe? Me and my neighbors share the internet and the modem//router is in their house. Do I have to have direct access to both of these to change the IP address? Would the internet connection have to be turned off and then back on again to make this work? Any advice or options or opinions would be great. I also saw recently that xfinity provides hotspots in my area for paying customers. Has anyone tried to take advantage of these for multiple accounts//separate IP addresses?

From what i've read you shouldn't utilize public hotspots, because you have no idea who has been using them for paypal/ebay. As far as changing the IP on the modem, I'd wait for a veteran to chime in, but I think all you would need to do is change the mac address of your modem and reboot it. It may be accessible via web login panel. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

I have Static IP's so VPS it is for me..

Couple of ways to do this, both require physical access to the router.

1. On some devices, a simple power on/off will release the IP address from DHCP and you will be assigned a new IP address.

2. On other setups, you need to access your router's web GUI (usually type 192.168.1.1 in your browser). From there, you would modify the last 2 digits of the router's WAN MAC address. Power off the router and restart and your modem should detect it as a different device...that causes your ISP to assign a new IP to you.

You could do the first part remotely by accessing the router's web GUI, but you would still need your neighbor to power on/off the router.

Avoid any public hotspot where other users have access to. You want to control your own IP.
