Default IP Switching Dilemma

Hi.

I have been searching the forums and I haven't seen/found a thread on this yet, so I am creating this one. If, however, there is one that I have missed, please let me know.

Due to a relocation, I am still in transition. My current "home" is a hotel room. After reading the stealth guide, I believe that my best option for IP switching would be to do Dial Up. Is this correct?

Does anyone have experience using a Blackberry for tethering?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Dial UP works but FASTER options are dongle and (you have referred to this) cellphone tethering.

I am sure ppl have used blackberry for tethering - wait for more comments or google it up.

Tethering with any device will essentially be same. The best thing to do is to check to make sure you get a fresh new IP when changing between accounts.

Not sure how you would do dialup at the hotel room but depending on how long you will be there you can go with a dongle (USB Modem) which can be used on laptop or PC.

It's actually not hard - I have done it...you would add whatever number (like 9) to dial out of the hotel room with their phone line - could be high charges

I would be worried about the extra charges to you from the hotel for using dial up. May I suggest you take these extra days until you settle and learn the ins & outs of stealth?

Here's a thread with stuff on Blackberry info.

Unlike other smart phones, you do not use a blackberry the same way as a MIFI to access the internet on your laptop/computer. Instead, you connect the blackberry to your laptop/computer, install blackberry manager and use it as a modem. You will need to call your service provider for; username, password, ISP APN. It is a little complicated, but still works the same.

I hope this helps!
