Hi, I have cable DSL. I wanted another way to get ip's. I got AOL through my dsl connection. I've been watching my aol ip add and it changed today. I'm not to savy on computers but how can that happen? Plus I see there is a way to expand my dialup #'s with aol. How is this all working? Can someone explain this all? How is aol running in this setup? I want to get started on a new ebay acc(s). And my bigger question, when changing my user accounts per new ebay acc, will all of this switching work?
The complete step-by-step guide to get back to selling today!
Unhook your DSL when you use AOL and just connect a phone line to your computer when you use AOL. When your done using AOL then just hook up your ethernet cable back into your pc.
I guess its in the air a bit cause one person said he's been doing it for years, another said ebay can see your main ip. Plus that was in 2007 threads. Maybe there is updated experience out there?

A LOT has changed since 2007 so definitely look at updated threads.
I know this sounds obvious to you computer experts but maybe this will help someone contemplating what I'm trying to do. I was on ebay with my cable internet, signed in for the day, closed ebay then opened AOL, opened ebay and even though I was on AOL, ebay still had me signed in. I see that as ebay recognizing my cable IP address not the AOL proxy? For now I'm plugging in the phone line direct with no risk.
Yes John14789 your right but like I said at the beginning of the thread, I wanted to know if anyone else has an okay on doing it this way. I only stumbled upon the sign in thing by accident last night late...
