Depends on the type of job and how fast you want it. There's a lot of dedicated graphic firms out there if you look for them.

Yep, mostly for just my own products. I don't typically make third parties artwork to sell as I like controlling my designs. Now, if he needed a business header or marketing items or something, I'd be happy to help.

Not really sure how to take that, but that's how I choose to be with my work. I don't like commissioned works to sell as I keep my art in house, but headers and marketing materials are fine for folks I know or what not. I used to make people's ebay stores and etsy banners and stuff like that when I was younger as a side business, but I stopped doing that. I found no joy in it.

I am thinking about starting my own brand in the near future and I need a designer to design stuff like packaging, logo...etc for me.


Fiverr seems like a nice place, but prices there seem to be very low. Do good designers really charge like 20-40$ per design?!

Most designs on Fiverr add up it you want the license to the image, certain image types, how fast you want it...etc. They have add-ons and a $5 can quickly balloon to $50-100.

By license to image you mean they will make the design exclusively for me and not offer something similar to it to someone else later?

Yep. That’s usually an additional fee they charge on there. Prices for that will vary designer to designer.

They have a section with a design contest. You tell them what you need and give them your budget. They will come up with designs and you pick a winner. I have made countless contests there especially for website logos, clothing labels and more. Always got what I needed.

Graphic design, especially the logo and basic marketing design market, is over saturated. Prices start low because that’s what they have chosen to do, with additional funds requested depending on how fast you want it, rights ownership, etc.

No one on here disparaged them or said everything should be cheap. Someone like the OP who has no experience with it was making sure the prices were in line with common commissioned work.

I do think that Fiverr is a great option even with the add-on fees. There's some serious creative stuff happening on there and I respect that talent and skills involved.
