| Chris Hanson | 10-25-2007 12:38 AM | Please Confirm this anybody!!! Google Checkout Can anybody tell me how often does google checkout deposit your money? Do they deposit twice a month or is it as often as the money comes in? |
| aspkin | 10-25-2007 01:21 AM | Last I heard they deposit when it comes in. It's a weird system I think. |
| bbbrivera | 10-25-2007 12:43 PM | Google Checkout not allowed on eBay? I just tried to list something on eBay and got this message:
Attention Sellers!
It appears you are offering Google Checkout as a payment method which is not permitted in the eBay marketplace. Buyers have a wide variety of choices when deciding how to pay sellers. Most payment methods offer a high degree of safety and convenience, however, a few simply are not appropriate for the eBay marketplace. Based on safety concerns and input from the Community, eBay has established an Accepted Payments Policy that clarifies eBay's position on payment methods.
Please revise your listing by removing the non-permitted payment method.
Any ideas? |
| Chris Hanson | 10-25-2007 12:58 PM | Woow you actually listed Google checkout as payment in your listings |
| vers0 | 10-25-2007 09:20 PM | Modee, Good point about the feedback. I never thought of that. |
My first successful experience with google checkout Today I got my first pyament throw google checkout, excellent no charge fees and no bad dream any more.
I have a question for users who already use GC, how long the charge need to be add in your payouts? |
| vers0 | 10-26-2007 06:10 PM | I performed a charge on Oct 23 and the payout happened on Oct 25. Its now Oct 26 and it has not hit my bank yet. I'm sure it take a few days for the money to hit the bank. |
vers0 when did you shipped the item after the charge on Oct 23 or after the payout on Oct 25,
thanks. |
| simogold | 10-26-2007 06:25 PM | 2 banking days.suppose you charge the customer Monday you will receive it the money Thursday. or it depends of your bank. |
| vers0 | 10-26-2007 06:26 PM | I actually did a $1.00 test because I am new to Google checkout. I have been using PayPal and need to start using other methods of receiving payments. That is actually a good question. "When to ship out the item". I would assume once its in you Google account? It may take 5 days to see it in you bank. I don't think customers would like to wait that long. Maybe others can comment on this? |
| Ballsack | 12-05-2007 12:57 PM | I see that the ssn requirement on google is now optional with a $500 a month limit on payout. Looks like someone got a few too many complaints or lack of signups. Has anyone been successful in simply faking their ssn on google checkout? |
| SECondplaygames | 12-05-2007 08:19 PM | taxes wow chris I need to become friends with you. I have a lot of tax questions. |
| Rosanna | 12-05-2007 08:45 PM | anyone still successfully using google checkout? Hi, is anyone here still successfully using google checkout? thanks |

Google needs to stop being evil before people want to sign up with them again. |
| Chris Hanson | 12-07-2007 02:08 AM | google has been nothing but good to me |
| SECondplaygames | 12-07-2007 02:12 AM | for me to!!! |

Hi, is anyone here still successfully using google checkout? thanks | I just crossed a major amount of money point for me through Google Checkout. They are the best. Everyone knows the name Google. No one has given anything a second thought after winning an auction of mine. Also what I like about Google Checkout is it gives your business a very professional look. PayPal is too consumer end oriented, unlike Google |
| inmyplace | 01-25-2008 01:13 PM | Listing question/google checkout I just signed up for Google Checkout. When I go to list an item, i check payment options as money orders/personal checks but I see there's another option for merchant account. From what I've read...if i check this I will be asked to fax merchant account for approval...is this right? If so, how do i let people know that I accept visa/master etc. Just state it in the description? Obviously leaving "google checkout" out. Anyone know of an auction I can look at that has this type of payment option??? Again...thanks so much! |
| thelizardking | 01-25-2008 01:37 PM | As far as accepting payments you have to accept paypal when you list...you can send the buyer an invoice before they are able to pay with paypal or refund them and tell them to use google checkout, but I wouldn't let ebay know your using google checkout as it is on their list of merchant accounts not permitted on the site. |
| californiadreamer | 01-25-2008 01:57 PM | when I list I always have an option for merchant account and it makes me choose paypal or merchant account (or both) I also state merchant account in my description. |
| inmyplace | 01-25-2008 02:00 PM | I just sold 2 items without using paypal? I know that google checkout is not permitted but I was wondering if I could check the "merchant account" as a payment option or not? If that would lead to them asking me to fax merchant account info for approval. |
| inmyplace | 01-25-2008 02:01 PM | i wonder why mine doesn't make me choose paypal or merchant? How old are ya'll accounts?? Mine is from 2001. |
| californiadreamer | 01-25-2008 02:22 PM | mine is 2007 n=and no they never asked me to fax any merchant info into them and have used google checkout for about 20 listings. |
| inmyplace | 01-25-2008 02:47 PM | Ok cool! Thanks so much ya'll! |

I can almost guarantee it. |
| californiadreamer | 01-26-2008 07:49 AM | definitely! You can only post you accept payment through merchant account, thats what I do and I STILL have buyers who don't read or pay attention and want to pay via paypal....sometimes I will accept and other times I insist on google checkout. |
| Rosanna | 01-26-2008 04:13 PM | What I have started to do is have both paypal and the merchant account as an option, and as soon as an auction ends offer the customer a discount to use the merchant account via invoicing stating that paypal fees are much higher, and you can save by using the merchant account. This may not work for everybody but it does for me. |
| ebayhateluv | 01-26-2008 05:56 PM | GOOD IDEA, Rosanna :)
-- What I do, is use ccnow, it takes paypal for me.. |
| inmyplace | 01-27-2008 10:58 PM | My paypal is currently limited...still working on getting it lifted so at this point i can't accept paypal. I just didn't know how to word it in my auction and if clicking "merchant account" would set off any ebay alarms...make sense?? |
| ebayhateluv | 02-03-2008 04:35 PM | ** Google Checkout + Ebay-- Tip... HI- FOUnd this post, hopefully it may help someone..
AND if someone else knows how to create the "button" theyre talking about.. Please let us know!!! Thanks! :)
You can use any system you want to use, ebay can not close your store
because you don't use paypal, (by the way I agree with you about
them), you will have to set up your payment system to go from your
store to GoogleCheckout, you have to custom your check out button to
look like your own, not Google's, and when your customer clicks it,
they are taken off site to pay, it takes a little custom work, but it
can be done |
| ebayvictim | 02-03-2008 04:59 PM | Are they talking about a checkout button in your end of auction email pointing to a checkout? If so - basic html link to google checkout on an image of your choice ? Right? And then insert the image or 'logo' into your standard email to winning bidder. |
| ebayhateluv | 02-03-2008 05:00 PM | Huh??? (I can list + sell + sell + list).. :)
But html, image logos???
Maybe u can explain for the rest of us, non-techy folks... '
Thanks!! :)) |
| ebayvictim | 02-03-2008 05:12 PM | Trust me, I'm no computer guru. But prior to my new outlook toward eBay I used blackthorne (since the late 90's before they were owned by eBay) Now I use Auctiva. Both have a way to create custom template for your winning bidder email. You can create this in any html editor. I use Microsoft Front Page but there a plenty of free ones available. Insert a custom image anywhere in the email to be your 'button'. This can be any type of small image, pic of a flower, find a 'check out' image on google or even a jpg of a colored or outlined box with the words 'check out here'. Create a html link associated with that image that has the url of your google checkout.
Does that even help? LOL |
| ebayhateluv | 02-03-2008 05:28 PM | HI- I've used BT, and Turbo Lister,
Cant figure how to convert a picture of a flower to a checkout button that the buyers click on??
BTW- Im a Senior Member of the Yellow + Black book Dummies Club, if that helps.. :)) |
| ebayvictim | 02-03-2008 05:38 PM | Someone else needs to jump in here! I only know how to create the html in an editor like frontpage. I insert the image, right click on it and choose hyperlink. Then I enter the URL I want. After that the pic is a clickable link! PM me with what you're using to list and I can probably walk you thru it. |
| ebayhateluv | 02-03-2008 05:42 PM | HI- Thanks, EBV.. I really dont need it myself, But normally a
newbie likes things well explained. Thanks! :)
(I'm old school, I use what works for me..) |
