| | | ebayhateluv | 01-26-2008 05:56 PM | GOOD IDEA, Rosanna :)
-- What I do, is use ccnow, it takes paypal for me.. |
| inmyplace | 01-27-2008 10:58 PM | My paypal is currently limited...still working on getting it lifted so at this point i can't accept paypal. I just didn't know how to word it in my auction and if clicking "merchant account" would set off any ebay alarms...make sense?? |
| ebayhateluv | 02-03-2008 04:35 PM | ** Google Checkout + Ebay-- Tip... HI- FOUnd this post, hopefully it may help someone..
AND if someone else knows how to create the "button" theyre talking about.. Please let us know!!! Thanks! :)
You can use any system you want to use, ebay can not close your store
because you don't use paypal, (by the way I agree with you about
them), you will have to set up your payment system to go from your
store to GoogleCheckout, you have to custom your check out button to
look like your own, not Google's, and when your customer clicks it,
they are taken off site to pay, it takes a little custom work, but it
can be done |
| ebayvictim | 02-03-2008 04:59 PM | Are they talking about a checkout button in your end of auction email pointing to a checkout? If so - basic html link to google checkout on an image of your choice ? Right? And then insert the image or 'logo' into your standard email to winning bidder. |
| ebayhateluv | 02-03-2008 05:00 PM | Huh??? (I can list + sell + sell + list).. :)
But html, image logos???
Maybe u can explain for the rest of us, non-techy folks... '
Thanks!! :)) |
| ebayvictim | 02-03-2008 05:12 PM | Trust me, I'm no computer guru. But prior to my new outlook toward eBay I used blackthorne (since the late 90's before they were owned by eBay) Now I use Auctiva. Both have a way to create custom template for your winning bidder email. You can create this in any html editor. I use Microsoft Front Page but there a plenty of free ones available. Insert a custom image anywhere in the email to be your 'button'. This can be any type of small image, pic of a flower, find a 'check out' image on google or even a jpg of a colored or outlined box with the words 'check out here'. Create a html link associated with that image that has the url of your google checkout.
Does that even help? LOL |
| ebayhateluv | 02-03-2008 05:28 PM | HI- I've used BT, and Turbo Lister,
Cant figure how to convert a picture of a flower to a checkout button that the buyers click on??
BTW- Im a Senior Member of the Yellow + Black book Dummies Club, if that helps.. :)) |
| ebayvictim | 02-03-2008 05:38 PM | Someone else needs to jump in here! I only know how to create the html in an editor like frontpage. I insert the image, right click on it and choose hyperlink. Then I enter the URL I want. After that the pic is a clickable link! PM me with what you're using to list and I can probably walk you thru it. |
| ebayhateluv | 02-03-2008 05:42 PM | HI- Thanks, EBV.. I really dont need it myself, But normally a
newbie likes things well explained. Thanks! :)
(I'm old school, I use what works for me..) |

| Ballsack | 02-09-2008 10:47 AM | Just curious but does google checkout call you up or put a freeze on your account when you begin to take in sales like paypal? Not sure if anything has changed since I first joined them. I decided to open a $500 limit account with them the other day just for the hell of it. |
| Van Player | 02-12-2008 11:59 PM | i would seriously advise against putting in any links to outside checkout url, or to another url for redirection using php... i had listings removed due to this. it is against feebay TOS (circumventing ebay fees of some BS like that ?), and they do have bots to monitor this, and will suspend listings, leading to suspension possibly.
however, if in a checkout / invoice type of email after the completion of auction, i think it will be ok as I eb will not be able to monitor it unless you send it through their system. |
| Ballsack | 02-18-2008 03:14 PM | Who signed up for a google checkout account last year and didn't need to input their SSN to lift any kind of limit on the account? Based on what I read here I may want to purchase an account if anyone has any extras lying around :) |

Thanks |
| LoveEbayNHateEbay | 03-03-2008 12:54 PM | Google has my real information. And my account has no limits. All of my non Ebay business goes through Google. |
| ebayaintstupid | 03-04-2008 06:34 PM | Are there ways to use Google Checkout on EBAY? I have not found a way yet. I have tried indirect links, but people don't seem to buy anything when I do that.
Just curious what clever ideas the folks here on the board have come up with. |
| Killed by Ebay | 03-04-2008 11:09 PM | Manually sending the invoices, taht what i do, but it is a pain in the ass |
| GreenBean | 03-04-2008 11:29 PM | He** yes. Google checkout can work OK. There is a thread called Merchant
Accounts and there is a heap of information about using google checkout. What
is REALLY tops is the instructions on how to set it up within your ebay account.
A lot of forum users make use of this little 'gift'. Have a read of the info and post
from there if there are more questions. |
| Ballsack | 03-05-2008 02:09 AM | Just manually send the invoices. The problem is ppl will ignore it thinking they already paid you by paypal. It doesn't even work when you warn ppl you don't take paypal in your auction. Bidders just don't care to read anything. Unfortunately you'll just have to deal with it. |

Definately not. But then again I'm limited to $500 a month. |
| viking23 | 03-12-2008 11:02 AM | Google checkout? I just signed up and verified Google checkout,i am using real info as i will be using it with a website I am creating.(need to move beyond Ebay/Paypal)
The question is,I just sent myself an invoice to see what it looks like and it shows my business name address and phone #,which are all real.
I also want to send these invoices to my Ebay customers from my "⊗⊗⊗⊗" Ebay accounts, but dont want them to see my real info on Google checkout,in case they contact Ebay for any reason.
Any ideas?
Thanks for you're help |
| Killed by Ebay | 03-12-2008 01:30 PM | I have been using google checkout for about 4 months now on ebay. I use it on 3 different accounts. So far out of hundreds of transactions i only had 2 people question the names and addresses being different. I told them both i am in business with a friend and he sells the items on ebay and i handle the funds | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 10:21 AM. | |
