Unhappy bad News guys

:(

i just received an email from Google Checkout team stating:

We are unable to verify the account information provided during the
signup
process. Although you may still accept and charge new orders at this
time,
you must provide some additional information before you can receive any
future payouts.

Please photocopy/scan the following documents within five business
days:

1. The front and back of the credit or debit card you used to sign up.
For security purposes, please conceal the first 12 digits of your card
number, leaving only the last 4 digits visible.
2. The front of your driver's license. Please ensure it is a clear and
legible copy.
3. Proof of address for each address entered in your Google Checkout
merchant account. Acceptable forms of proof of address include the
following:

-driver's license with matching address
-bank statement
-credit card bill
-water, phone or other utility bill
-business license

4. The original supplier invoices/receipts for the following order:

Order # 234962017967099

The invoices must contain order details and your supplier's phone
number.

In addition, we noticed that the bank account you provided for Google
Checkout is related to a virtual money service.

At this time, Google Checkout does not support the use of bank accounts
that are related to virtual money services.

i was using a prepaid card attached with US bank . i was working with it fine with paypal

I just wait until the EBAY auction is over and then email right then and ask if they wouldn't mind paying with G.checkout. I offer to take a few bucks off shipping. So far, everyone has been amenable.
I would first not offer any discount

Every single auction I have closed, my winning bidders have happily paid via Google Checkout, sometimes within minutes.

Yup, same features and more. Its more of a merchant account though than paypal is. All sorts of integration options.

I'd go with Google Checkout Modee, atleast until the free credit card processing thing is over. Google Checkout is in the tv commercials of some large respectable online stores. And coming from a person who deals with transactions that can reach as high as 50k, it's a REALLY good service.

You can do this easily with PP, without having to buy outside software.

What I want to do, is on my ORDER page, just have a bunch of different buttons, and then also a cart button so customers can check at any time to see what is in it. A simplified sort of cart.
Click the integration tab, it gives you all information needed for your account to integrate google checkout if you don't just want to use their generated buttons.

Default WOW, Google Checkout

One of my clients today got a phone call from VISA and then contacted me stating what they said. They told my client that Google Checkout is considered unsafe and that Paypal is a more preferred online payment methods. Then they asked if he still wished to authorize the charge. He did, but WOW eBay seems to be using their Paypal banking license in Europe to the fullest extent.

Default Google Checkout

I am having some problems setting up my google checkout, I am working on a old operating system.. Just wanted to know when you put in all your information does it ask for a banking account number for your money to go directly in? How excatly does this work???

I have a credit card with GreenDot and they come with a checking account number for direct deposit which is great...
Someone please get back with me soon I am going to the library to set this up today...
Thanks

I set up my Google checkout a few days ago. I used all ⊗⊗⊗⊗ personal info. I should of just used my real info as Google and Ebay do not talk. But in my defense i was overly paranoid after just being suspended for the first time.

The only thing they ask for is your checking account and routing number. They obviously do not check names or addresses as the small deposit was made into my checking account yesterday. I went to the website and put in the amount of the deposit (just like Paypal) and my account is now verified and active. Hope that helps.

I liked Google CHeckout but it's a pain to manually invoice your buyers everytime.

Now I'm just using Auctiva and that way by putting in my merchant account info buyers can checkout right away.

Chris, I've read a lot and I respect your view. Would you mind sharing what merchant account you use? You always mention "yours". Does that mean "you" literally are a merchant account? I may sound a little ignorant here but you seem to have a good thing. Mind sharing?

I'm guessing everyone is using ⊗⊗⊗⊗ ssn numbers. I did the same thing a while back and they limited my account after only a few transacitons. Not sure if this was because of my ⊗⊗⊗⊗ ssn or because they didn't like my VPN ip number for whatever reason.

why would we use ⊗⊗⊗⊗ ssn for google checkout?

Theres no reason to use ⊗⊗⊗⊗ info for your google checkout account. We use ⊗⊗⊗⊗ info for eBay because of their business practices, but for credit card processing on the internet its best to use your real info on google checkout, so you can continue to use it in the future and through other formats besides eBay

Default Google Checkout, still the best alternative

Been using them for months now. Going strong. It is the best alternative. When people ask you via the question form on eBay what payment method you ask, they have no worries when you say "we have a merchant account with GOOGLE CHECKOUT" since everyone knows google.

And customer service is great. Had one person try to do a chargeback. (Google didn't take the money out of my bank). They are giving me till the 16th of october to provide shipping proof which I have now as of a few days ago. From what I know of paypal and the likes, once theres a chargeback its pretty much over and they right away take it out of your bank.

haha yep, really sad. It happened to me once and then paypal CHARGED ME AN EXTRA $10!! on top of what I lost from the chargeback. But I thought telling customers you have GC could get you in trouble?

over my 10 years trading on eBay - i like to think of 'chargebacks' as just leakage and an operational expense, like shop lifting from a retail enviroment

It is great that idea of gogglecheckout is starting to spread and gather popularity.

It is such a relief not to be totally reliant on PayPal anymore, no more PayPal saying 'JUMP' and us saying 'how hi ?'
