Permanent Limitation 34k USD - Australia Stealth (180 days)
Paypal have recently permanently limited my Australian stealth account with 38.9k USD inside it.
The message I received was as follows: If there is any money in your account balance, it will be held for 180 days (from the date of the last payment you received) to cover any disputes that might be opened by your buyers. After 180 days, we may ask you to provide us with a proof of identity and a proof of address before you can withdraw any remaining balance. If there are outstanding buyer’s complaints open against you, you can refund your customers via the Resolution Centre in your PayPal account.
The documents submitted for ID were from fictitious individual.
At the same time, the Paypal settings allows me to change the name of the account holder
They seem to be implying that they couldn't confirm the identity of the stealth account holder.
My questions to our more experienced forum members is:
1) Should I wait the 180 days and wait for it to be automatically released?
2) Or will they keep the money forever?
3) Should I just change the name to someone real and submit docs? And then withdraw after 180 days?
4) File an AFCA complaint?
Your assistance would be appreciated.
