Re: US PayPal permanently limited

Well atm looks like my account will remain banned, which sucks. Don’t think they replied to my BBB case or not.

Their response:

PayPal found your payment activity to be in violation of our Acceptable Use Policy. Our decisions about holds, limitations may be based on confidential criteria and we are under no obligation to disclose further details regarding this decision.
To the best of my knowledge nothing I have done has violated the AUP but without knowing what they looked at I have no clue.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news but since 2019, there has been very shady things happening over at PayPal

https://www.aspkin.com/forums/paypal...lation-21.html

Almost all accounts closed for AUP violations are never made available for withdrawal.

I have a question OP, you must have received an email from PayPal the moment you were permanently limited.

Can you let me know what the exact wording of the email was? Thanks. Only if you don't mind.

I'm studying up PayPal a bit atm.

I'm studying up PayPal a bit atm.

The first email I received from PayPal was:
Quote:

You can no longer use PayPal

After a review, we decided to permanently limit your account as we found potential risk associated with it. You’ll not be able to use PayPal to send and receive money or shop online.

If you have money in your PayPal balance, we’ll hold the money for up to 180 days. After that period, we’ll email you with information on how to access your funds.

We regret any inconvenience this may cause.
It took about 2-3 weeks since that email and a couple of emails (and twitter dm) to get them to tell me that it was because a transaction was found to violate the AUP after they conducted a review of my account (and in their words "considering all factors" and that they couldn't tell me anything else due to confidential and proprietary information gathered during the review)

They have until 12/31/2020 for them to respond to my BBB case

Re: US PayPal permanently limited

you may want to hire a lawyer to approach Paypal or just forge about this account.

My account was just permanently limited due to an AUP violation too. After 180d, can I just add a new bank and withdraw the money?

You'll have to wait and see after that time - hopefully it will be ok but there are experiences of big hassle to add new bank account

Re: US PayPal permanently limited

was able to withdraw the money from my account (under $500) with no issues.

After a while I might contact paypal again to see if they'll lift the limitation
