Go on, create a new account & never use any data that are on a limited account. They keep info indefinitely... |

| arronb2009 | 02-01-2012 05:03 AM | So when the 180 days are up which in my case in only a few days time, you have to add a bank account to withdraw the money? cant you use the bank account thats already linked with that account? ,I have a couple of stealth accounts but obviously wont that link them to the account thats limited and has the held fund in?? , I have heard paypalsend you a cheque, is that true? |
Not sure about UK but for withdrawing, sure you can use the bank account that is ALREADY on the SAME pp account provided that the account is active. |
| manolete | 05-01-2012 04:53 AM | Hello
In my case, I was limited for transferring more than 2500 € per year, today is 190 day till limitation, and nothing happens.
Is normal thhis kind of delay? |
| seanws30 | 06-26-2012 11:58 AM | ill add my 2 cents to this since ive had two different scenarios play out lately.
#1; account limited dec 29 2011 for "suspicious activity, we need more info blah blah blah..." they wanted everything, ssn, phone bill, cc statements, urine sample. NEVER got an email saying i would get my funds after 180 days. well, today is exactly 180 days and i just got the email saying i could get my money.
#2; had another limited about 2 weeks after the other one. that one was nuked, and i DID get the 180 day email. after 90 days i sent the email asking for my money since i had no complaints. said there was no reason why they should hold my money for 180 days. followed this article How I Convinced PayPal To Release My Funds | Learn Success The Easy Way. they told me i had to wait the full 180 days. i replied saying i would start the complaints. i also said i would be willing to take half now and half in 180 days. they agreed. so i got the half after 90, and have two more weeks before i get the other half
scenario #2 i wasnt so worried about since they said i would get it after 180. it was #1 that had me scared to the tune of $5k. my plan is to have the money sent, transfer it to another account, and then close the account so they cant yank it back |
| australiaclivia | 06-30-2012 04:24 AM | You have supervisors to talk to? We don't (Australia) I have tried to speak to supervisors before...but all our call agents are from India or such, and although their English is reasonable, as soon as they do not understand, ie I wish to speak to your Supervisor, or Why has my account been limited? Of course, they do not understand..and we get nowhere.
I got rid of a real fraud on Ebay..and lost big percentages for that, still proud I did itTaken me 2 years to get my ratings back to 100%. Now I have oone person leaving bad feedback, when they have never, ever purchased from me?
Now the trust and safety team, or the lawyers...Paypal guarantees mean they gobble the money until you settle it yourselves (usually to sellers disadvantage).
A friend of mine from China lost $2,000 worth of goods to a lady in the USA...
that was probably 4 years salary to my friend...... I do not know how this thief can sleep at night....... |
| Konnann | 08-08-2012 07:16 PM | Guessing this still all applies? After 180 days I can add another bank acct and get my money?
got over $500 sitting there that would be nice to have back :) |

| waterproof | 08-09-2012 11:37 PM | Good to hear that you didn't get discouraged and give up on the account all together. Way to hang in and get your funds back! |
| bannedben | 08-16-2012 08:35 AM | So how much money can actually be taken into your paypal account each month without becoming limited? Bare in mind that this will be a new account for me now. |
| static | 09-05-2012 12:42 PM | This week, I had an account finish its 180 days, and received the email saying I could withdraw. I opened+ added a new bank account to it, and went to withdraw. An hour after I submitted the withdraw request, the withdrawal was reversed, and I got a new message saying The account was limited. Then I was prompted to change passwords, confirm previous acct numbers in full, and verify emails were still valid. It also is now asking my to confirm the new bank account+ my location. I think that stuff was all asked of my 6 months ago (along with ss, etc), but I didn't do it all because I was fine with waiting 6 months.
Now I'm very concerned. I've never had an account re-limited after 180 days, and I've never been forced to confirm a Bank acct that I wanted to withdraw to (after 180 days).
Anyone else experience something like this? |
| Roscoe | 09-24-2012 01:50 AM | Any update? |
| static | 10-03-2012 03:01 PM | sorry for the late response. After changing the info they requested, and confirming the 2 small deposits, I attempted to withdraw again (I still did not confirm location). That time, the withdrawal went through. It seems to be, that confirming the 2 deposits was enough for them to allow the withdrawal. ve had other accounts not need to be bank confirmed as long as the 180 days had past first, but apparently this account required the bank to be confirmed regardless. |
Hey everyone.. what if it is a ghost account and you dont have any documents? What do you do?? Thanks!!! |
| slapped | 12-04-2012 11:10 AM | Sometimes you have to get "Creative' |
| xenix | 12-25-2012 10:10 AM | You can even withdraw from a ghost account after 180 days, no need to give them documents. Quote:

| Alison | 03-04-2013 05:58 PM | Hello, in december paypal limited one of my paypal account with about 2800euro on it.
Normaly I was suppose to have the money back in June (180 days hold).
But in January they give me acces to 20euro in my account (wow thank you so much).
In february they give me acces to 1300euro (that's better).
Now I've still 1400euro on my paypal account and I'm wondering if in March they will give me some money back or not. Like they give me back money since 2 month, I think I've some chance... What do you think? Some people had the same experience?
Thank you, cheers. |
You are scheduled to have the 180 days pass in June - pp is not required to release earlier but they have done. Nice for you. I doubt you will have some release in March - wait until June for rest |

Can not say others on this forum have had similar luck.

| cactus | 03-16-2013 10:49 AM | Hi guys.
Paypal aren't really corporative by the looks of it. Shame there isn't a similar payment service that actually is good for the customer.
Anyway, I've been selling and buying on ebay since the age of 13-14 and am now 18.
I've recently had an account limited after one year, I was 16 or 17 when I had made it. I've been asked to provide information that I do not have. I would like to get my cash out, it's only £250 but its mine not theirs. I'ts been about 200 days since being closed and Im out of ideas on how I could get my money back without providing them with a passport/Driver licence (I have neither). I have had a few cases opened, but I've always resolved and refunded the buyer, even when they blatantly try to scam me. (Happened with two iPhones, £700 down the drain because of paypals biased rubbish detective team seemed to automatically stick to the buyers side)
Anyway..
Any help would be great.
Regards,
Cactus. |
| Sandy D | 03-27-2013 10:07 AM | I am hearing this 180 day rule might be changing soon to 45 days max.
Hope it comes true.
5 billion dollars being held is wrong and immoral in my opinion.
When the judge stopped them from drawing interest on this money it when they should have ended this "pp is king and can do whatever they want" ways. |

Do you have source?
I don't think that paypal will be able to give back 5 billions $ back at the same time.
Had 10euro unblock the 21 March, hope to have more the 20 April... |

Just a rumor from someone who I trust dearly who usually has connections to info.
Why would they have to hand back billions at the same time?
I did not say auto release I said rumor is they are going to be forced to lower the days to around 45 days instead of 180, therefore everyones would be at different times, not at the same time.
PP could hand out billions in a heartbeat and not even blink. |
| taylel | 04-17-2013 01:45 AM | 45 days would be 75% at one time but it would be no problem, there is no telling how much money they have at to pull from at any time. I would assume it is one of the largest banks in the world. |
| saduka | 08-08-2013 02:19 PM | Hello, I was referred here by another forum and quickly glanced to see if anyone is having the same problem I have... I don't work but sell on eBay and Paypal really screwed me over and almost got kicked out of my apartment.
Here's my story:
Not too long ago (2 months) I've sold 10 items that totaled to $1500. Within that time frame I've been wiring the payments from my paypal to my bank account. But after 2 weeks have gone by none of the payments I wired ended up clearing, I have 100% positive feedback 255(blue star) member since 2009. I called paypal and they told me I was receiving huge amount of payments from different countries and they have to freeze the transfers for "security reasons" which boggled my mind since that's what ebay/PayPal is used for. I give it a couple more days which led to weeks and now 3 months and still nothing. I googled some stuff and saw a couple success letters that people have made and got their money, they also suggested to copy and edit the letter to my situation and email to 20+ @paypal.com emails which i think no one uses or dont care. I called again and told them i sent warning letter about how I will take them to a small claim court if they don't release my funds within a certain date and they pretty much said "GO AHEAD". This is rubbish. I never violated any of their agreement/user terms.
Has anyone been in the same situation as this that could possibly help or throw me some tips? |
| stillconfused | 12-14-2013 04:16 AM | Re: Shedding Light: Paypal Money Released After 180 Days Does the 180 day wait happen after they request proof of ID in Australia? I can't supply the info they want and money is still going into that account as the feebay account is still selling. Also is it advisable to end those listings? |
| joew8989 | 12-20-2013 12:14 AM | Re: Shedding Light: Paypal Money Released After 180 Days I've carried balances that high with paypal and never thought twice about it. Luckily for me I only was holding $18,000 when they limited me. What happened was I visited China, to get a better understanding of how what I was selling was produced, and weather or not it was authentic. I've heard a lot of horror stories, and wanted to see what was going on. Convinced what I was selling was authentic, and ethical, I came back and I increased my weekly orders to over 10K a week. I asked my friendly banker if this was going to be a problem. I have been in retail over 30 years and I know deposits of 10K in cash means I am laundering money. They assured me that was only cash. Since I was using electronic money it was fine.
2 weeks later I got a call from my bank, telling me that department of homeland security was inquiring as to why I was wiring such large amounts of cash. Then I logged onto my computer and saw the paypal account that was linked to the account I was wiring $ from was limited. (My account was from 2004) there was only 18k in cash so I was relieved.
I was running 6 accounts at the time 5K a week and over the last 3 months I have lost 4 accounts. (all linked, I was trying to figure out this linking thing on my own, I was unaware of this site) They were all at least 5 years old. The only 2 producing accounts I have now are about a year old.
I feel as if I am in AA confessing my story. Luckily for me ( I put both my kids through college, thanks to EBay and partially Amazon) I was only saving for retirement, and I have time to rebuild.
I am working on building 30 accounts now. I don't need that much volume but I now operate knowing no matter how legit, and clean you feel, you can get shut down at any time. You cant buy fire insurance on an Ebay account but its the same as having a brick and mortar store burn to the ground without insurance. |
Re: Shedding Light: Paypal Money Released After 180 Days Has anyone recently dealt with Paypal UK in relation to getting funds released early (without waiting 180 days?).
Getting frustrated with their auto responses. Everytime I call them they say the relevant department needs to be emailed.
Everytime I email them I get a response telling me the reason I was suspended.
None of the agents answer the actual question. |

| esnake | 01-24-2015 11:54 AM | Re: Shedding Light: Paypal Money Released After 180 Days I had my account limited due to a charge back and multiple withdrawls of over 800 USD. I have been permently limited in Paypal with no chance of appeal.
However, after only 37 days i received an e-mail stating that I could withdraw my cash so I did immediately into my bank account on file in my Paypal account.
My account is still limited and my eBay accounts are fine but i have to use another source for payment which has killed my business.
So I have two questions really:
1. Why was my money released early?
2. Can I still attache my ebay accounts to a new bank account the way of stealth account? I have some of my ebay accounts with 1300 100% pos feedback with maxed selling limits. Can I still keep these or do I need to start fresh?
Thanks for any advice:typing: |

So to say they would have no problem handing out billions is a bit far fetched since they have 5 billion and just because it states cash, the minute that becomes cash is the minute that cash is tied to the investments to protect the cash. It just sucks thinking how much of the Paypal funds are due to freezing millions of accounts and investing other peoples money to make investors rich. |
| stevv | 03-25-2015 08:45 AM | Re: Shedding Light: Paypal Money Released After 180 Days I had 3 UK PayPal Accounts limited back in December 14 saying the usual, "you may get your money back in 180 days blah blah"
Only a few hundred pounds in each and I have got the money back from 2 in Feb and one with £37 not yet.
From my experience I had to contact them in some way after the limitation to initiate the process. I telephoned them though I have seen mentioned that its not always good to phone though I dont know why.
So my guess is that unless they think you are a risk for chargebacks or something when they review your account after a month or two you should get your money! (in the UK)
I should not think it helps hassling them as they seem to follow fixed procedures. |
