Can i remove a bank account from a limited account after i and use it for another

Sorry to resurrect this thread, but I too would like to re-use a bank account on multiple PP accounts that have already been limited for 180d and now have the ability to withdraw funds. I already tried this but you cannot remove a bank account on a limited PP account nor can you add one that is already being used by another account. So it seems I need the ability to remove the bank account first. Anybody try to call PP and ask them to remove the bank account? Think I may try this. Got nothing to loose since both accts are already limited. I really don't think they'll keep your money after 180d but for testing I will use it on PP accts that have little money in it!

My advice would be for you NOT to re add any bank account used at Paypal. There is always the probability of them storing your info even if is deleted...

I know it's pointless adding my 2 cents worth but I'm going too anyway.

I used my Lloyd's TSB current account first in April 2009 for PayPal, 2 years later in June 2011 I was able to re add it to another PayPal account.

The 1st account it was on WAS limited forever, but I've add no issues with re-adding this bank account but then the account it's on is only a buyers account.

Techincally paypal says a bank account can be removed.

It's the repercussions of doing it that make it not so viable for long term stealth

Each and every case differs.

Preferable to still operate on the basis that it is not sound practices.

Yes you can normally remove a bank account but when the account is limited you are not allowed to. It even says in the Resolution Centre in the things you cannot do list, remove a bank account is on that list.

they will still have it on file i know but if you dont want them legally be able to touch your bank its good,all you have to do is go on your interent banking ,go to direct debits there will be one from ebay and paypal and just cancel the direct debit with paypal/ebay.Then a few days later you should get a email from paypal saying On , we attempted to transfer from your bank account, ending in 6568. This transfer was returned by your bank on for the reason below: There was a bank processing error. As a result, this bank account has been removed from your PayPal account. Please contact your bank for more information or add a new bank account. Please do not contact PayPal because this is entirely an issue between the account holder and their bank. This was after my account was limited for at least 2 months and with a negative balance and havent heard of paypal since,I have also used the same bank on 2 accounts before though ,i was about to get a dispute so removed my bank and closed my account and open a new one with the same details and bank and didnt have a problem.

Very bad idea! Paypal may decide to limit you for another 180 days are just straight up keep your money!

i have not done it with a banned account no,i wouldnt either ,i done it with a account due to get a unfair dispute on, as the buyer contacted me first saying they were going to dispute.i wouldnt re use a banned bank account i was just saying how to remove a bank account from a limited paypal.

regardless of its prior use - can you add a bank to paypal to withdraw at 180day mark? I thought you could not, it has to be an existing bank or cheque....

Yes you can add bank after 180 days I've done it before, sometimes it won't let you though and you have to call.

ok, reason I asked was that I have never had a 180 with any significant money in it...

Lets change the question round a little - after 6 years or whatever, they do not have records anymore, right? they must get wiped like most institutions, so a really old linked bank account, maybe, just throwing it out there that maybe you should never close a bank just cos its attached, after the dust settles in a few years maybe it might be useful....?
