Even in the old pre divorce days they were separated in a sense. I had many account where the pp was fine and ebay died or the opposite and honestly i probably still somewhere have pp or ebs that are ok but there linker is dead. One without the other and more emphasis on pp is a good play in the new world

I agree, a working paypal account is way more important than a working ebay account. I don't really care if I can't sell on ebay (in fact life is a lot less hassle sometimes when not dealing with ebay) but since most of online shoppers use paypal unless you have a merchant account, paypal is critical to getting paid online. Life goes on without ebay, but for many, it would be a major problem if paypal went down. So if paypal has to impose tighter restrictions to weed out bad apples to make their position stronger, so be it.

Would be nice if a payment company would rise to the occasion and compete, but there have been many that tried and failed over the years.

they run ads on how great it is to sell on ebay and how people make money selling stupid stuff, but the reality is 1. for a new account you can sell 10 items a month and 2. you don't get access to your money for a week to 3 weeks. it just drives would be new ebay seller away. most people want to sell stuff right now, they don't know about growing accounts, they just want to clear their house, not bits and pieces at a time. then when you couple it with holding the money for a period of time even if it is just a few days, people will just say forget it and have a garage sale. 3. if new seller has to call ebay because his account is limited and they get some guy in Mumbai - 'nuff said.

a lot of people that sell on ebay are also buyers on ebay. at least they were in the past. I would rather see the site grow than get smaller. adding sellers makes it bigger. throttling sellers just drives them away.

of course I am assuming and giving new sellers the benefit of the doubt that they are not scammers. I guess my complaint is more tied to ebay than pp itself but since they are one in the same I just lump them together.

I am happy about any holds on my money, no of course not, but that's life sometimes and you have to roll with it.

This is what I want, less competition!!! Except with you guys!! (oops) lol

It's bad for business. The more money you have available, the more you can purchase and grow your inventory. 21 days hold is absolutely ridiculous.

eBay themselves bump you down the listings sometimes on older accounts.

Totally agree. The same story with my 3 month account vs 5 years. The 3month shows better visibility and is ranked higher - better sales with the same product.

It depends on your products. I usually ship express and get the 2d or 3d day delivery. So I don't feel the difference (maybe only at the time of withdrawal).

Just wait or you can add tracking numbers and request buyer confirm got your item and money will release soon.

Within those 21 days a lot can happen to your account. If you sell $5000 item or $5000 worth of product and a week or 2 later you get limited.. You're screwed.
