| Calvina | 06-10-2011 03:16 AM | Hi
being new im still amazed at how deceitful ebay and paypal can be. However, without wanting to sound like im takign sides.....people remember, ebay and paypal are a PRIVILEGE ....therefore i guess they can do whateve they want. Im not saying that what they are doing si right...cos its not!
with regards to paymate for the aussies.....paypal, paymate and ebay are al in bed together. If you are new and trying to increase feedback you cannot use paymate as they state you need a rating fo at elast 98% with 10 or more positive feedback as a seller in the last 6 months. and you cannot sell to get the feedback in the first place unless you use a safe payment method. therefore as a newbiw you are screwed and have no choice but to use paypal-like it or not
if anyone can tell me how i can get around this id love to know as id use paymate over paypal anyday! |

I know that no one likes them but the fact is if you are going to trade successfully on the UK venue you need PP.
That's what this forum is about isn't it?
Get with the programme UKers

| tsneds | 07-01-2011 05:39 PM | These payment processors are all becoming detectives when it comes to accounts and account info but looking at it from their side of things I would guess some of it has to do with fear of harboring scam artists or money launderers. |
| smellybelly | 07-02-2011 06:36 AM | so if i sign up for a nochex account and fully verify it, and i write in my listings nochex payments only is thats ok?
and if i sell an item which is like 4,000 pounds, the person who wins and i tell them to pay by nochex only, they will have to make a nochex account and fully verify it to send that type of amount...
do you know how long that is ...!!!!! |

Btw isnt bidpay gone?? BidPay
"Effective December 31, 2007, BidPay.com, Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of CyberSource Corporation, discontinued operations. You have been redirected to Authorize.Net, a CyberSource online payment solution that helps small businesses accept credit cards and electronic check payments." |

Good luck getting that money back from Paypal. I hear it's rare that they give it back and if they do it takes far longer than the 180 days and usually takes you threatening an attorney. | Kiss the money and paypal account goodbye and start over. Don't link the accounts. The chance of you gaining access to that is slim to none. You have raised flags. It won't be long before your ebay is questioned.
I had over 1000 sitting in my paypal and had the same information given to me. Within two weeks they shut my ebay down. |
| virgilio27 | 09-24-2012 06:05 AM | Thanks for the info guys!
this has been a problem for me and now i can sell |
| sidebetz | 10-31-2012 03:38 PM | Thanks classylady71, i guess there is no way around using paypal then.
Its still buying gift voucher with paypal then. |
Certapay/Interac e-Transfer is amazing |
| xenix | 12-22-2012 11:06 AM | I use 2CO as a payment method to one of sites and noticed some buyers do not like to pay via alternatives. They request paypal. |
| dreamer90 | 01-05-2013 02:03 PM | i wish we can use certrapay on ebay... |
| Mr. Invisible | 01-06-2013 01:37 PM | Getting people to not pay via paypal is getting increasingly more difficult... :ballchain: |
| saladin1287 | 02-28-2013 06:57 PM | Great info. thank you |
| classylady71 | 03-02-2013 03:56 AM | Paypal, just another ripoff! I am starting to hate Paypal with a passion. :mad2:I have reviewed a lot of threads. It's good to get actual information on eBay and Paypal problems. I have signed up for authorize.net. I was looking around eBay and noticed they only accept Cybersource, Authorize.net, and Payflow. They are some sneaky buzzards!
They act like they are a bank when they are not and more merchants are using them! If they didn't have such a huge client base I wouldn't even give them a second look!
I sincerely thank this forum and all contribute to it! I bought the guide a while back and it really opened my eyes.
Forever grateful! |
| schris142 | 03-03-2013 12:21 AM | THIS MAYBE SO
but you still have to offer paypal otherwise you cant sell
so if you Ask buyers to pay with any other online service then can nochex for example be used to accept a payment from paypal |

I am stuck with large amount paid through paypal. They seemed to put me under limited everytime I had more than 1 thousand value transaction (one single item) . |

| blueskyorders | 06-30-2013 11:10 AM | can real paymate link to a @&%%% EBAY account? Does anyone know if the real paymate can be linked to a @&%%% EBAY account?
I would like to know.thank you |
| minns | 10-11-2013 09:21 AM | Re: Paypal Alternatives For People Worldwide! Great Info! I would welcome some feedback from the members in this thread. I'm not an ebay seller, but I am launching a web site where I'll be selling at least one book. I need to have a credit card page where people can buy from my site, and I've been hoping to find an alternative to Pay-Pal. So far, I have not found a reliable service, and all of the credit card options I found had fees that were too high for where I'm at right now. I'll welcome any idas. |
Re: Paypal Alternatives For People Worldwide! Great Info! What fee % you looking for? That's the first goal - some banks have their own web-selling tools with cc processing services for that - if you have registeed business too, I might add. |
| minns | 10-11-2013 07:16 PM | Re: Paypal Alternatives For People Worldwide! Great Info! I am only selling one book at the moment, and my needs are simple. Pay_pal wouldn't be a bad option if they didn't have such a habit of freezing people's accounts at random (I know too many people who have been screwed over by them). Finding a comparable service that actually has good reviews has been tough. I'll welcome any leads. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 09:44 AM. | |
