Abraham Lincoln once said that if you are a racist, I will attack you with the north, and these are the principals I carry with me into the workplace.

shellz48 02-27-2008 04:42 PM

bidpay is shut down! ahh! has anyone used auction checkout before?

MissKim 02-28-2008 03:49 PM

From now on, I suggest you use your own merchants on EBAY, this will make paypal lose money, and maybe make ebay think about the way they treat their users.
Even though the MERCHANT account requires you to send or FAX papers to ebay to prove that you own it.

ytl 03-03-2008 09:57 AM

ehehehe, from an englishman: American office is better than the English office, IMHO.

gettysmith 06-24-2008 08:48 AM

I have heard many good things about this Paypal alternative. I personally don't believe in using Paypal anymore after they stole two hundred and some dollars from my best friend. Glad it didn't happen to me because I had a lot of money in my own paypal account at that time too. Never again. That's for sure!

greg2414 06-24-2008 11:56 AM

Nokia it's credit cards, i think you need to do some reading young sir!

what papers to you exactly fax to ebay
and how do you interigate into your listing because when you use paypal you go at the bottom of listing it says the payments you accept and there is a large paypal sign and the protection they offer.

correct me?

greg2414 06-24-2008 07:17 PM

, i use nochex as ebay aproove of the payment method.

greg2414 06-24-2008 08:13 PM

Nochex apprently took ebay to court over the matter, if it says in their tos it's ok who cares? Ebay cant do nout anymore so drain them of all their profits,

Bidpay

OK, So i open bidpay. Do i have to use my real name or can I use my ficticious name on ebay? Does either one matter? And I can obviously link this to my auctions as well? When people pay, can they pay from their paypal account to my bidpay acount and has anyone had any problems with people not wanting to pay unless it is paypal? Last one, Is there a way to use this as my prime resource of payment and take paypal off my auctions entirely. Thanks in advance again, all this info is great.

Tiredofebay 07-30-2008 01:22 PM

I see some merchants I can use. Now what if someone would want to pay with cash like they do from their own paypal account? Is there some merchant I can use where they can transfer money from theirs to mine? Hope this question is not to stupid but there are some people out there without credit cards or cannot get credit cards. Thanks

this is copied from a ebay help topic i found:

Realize that ebay own's Paypal so they push users to use their system.

If you are an Australian ebay user then Paymate is a great solution.
If you are a Canadian ebay user then CertaPay is great.
If you are a UK ebay usere then Nochex is great.

US ebay users and International Users can all use BidPay with a US Bank Account.
BidPay is the best solution to selling on ebay without Paypal and wanting to accept credit cards

Payment Services permitted on eBay: Allpay.net, Bidpay, cash2india, CertaPay, Checkfree.com, hyperwallet.com, Moneybookers.com, Nochex.com, Ozpay.biz, Paymate.com.au, Propay.com, XOOM

Payment Services not permitted on eBay: AlertPay.com, anypay.com, AuctionChex.com, BillPay.ie, ecount.com, cardserviceinternational.com, CCAvenue, ecount, e-gold, eHotPay.com, ePassporte.com, EuroGiro, FastCash.com, Google Checkout, gcash, GearPay, Goldmoney.com, graphcard.com, greenzap.com, ikobo.com, Liberty Dollars, Moneygram.com, neteller.com, Netpay.com, paychest.com, payingfast.com, Payko.com, paypay, Postepay, Qchex.com, rupay.com, sendmoneyorder.com, stamps, Stormpay, wmtransfer.com, xcoin.com

eBay Pulls Listing that Contain References to BidPay

Quasi_Mojo 09-14-2008 11:37 AM

cortex, that article you linked to is outdated (February 02, 2006), as well.

Here's a link for payment methods for eBay.com effective March 2008: Accepted Payments Policy

And here's one for the UK side (not dated), that, oddly enough, mentions BidPay: Comparing Ways of Paying for Your Purchases

medway30 10-01-2008 11:42 AM

Does anyone use nochex in the uk? if so are you making as much money, do people accept it as payment method on ebay? as i used it a few years ago and made hardly any sales at all

franky 10-05-2008 06:05 PM

Which other great payment way for canada beside certapay and paypal ?

gogoguy 10-14-2008 05:05 PM

BidPay was a good one, but they went belly up about a year ago. Sorry US; BidPay went ByeBye.

chostin 12-10-2008 07:17 PM

I would too be very interested in hearing any alternatives for Canadian sellers. PayPal has caused me SO much grief this holiday season I really need to find a good alternative, though I know recently eBay has (correct me if I am wrong) clamped down on making you offer paypal as an option for many types of selling or a couple other certified merchant accounts, the one I saw only works in US I think?

Any advice would be helpful

the problem with CertaPay (which as I see is the same as interac money transfer) is that it doesn't have an easy checkout method and requires sending from buyers own bank accounts to your email. In some ways it is great but not the best all around solution as not all buyers (or nearly all) have this option.... esp. if selling from Canada to the US, but with a Canadian account.

thanks

kirkie 12-30-2008 08:22 AM

Thanks for that

newguy121 01-19-2009 05:31 PM

Here is what I would like to know.

I have a merchant account. I would like to sell overseas and accept credit cards from valid buyers with this account. Anyone with experience selling overseas using credit card merchant accounts? I used to use wiretransfer for all of these sales, but its a hassle and some buyers do not want to deal with that.

So does anyone here sell higher valued items overseas? Do they sign for it? Do you have proof of delivery? What service?

Dear,
friends

Last time I try to offer paymate on my listing, but none of the customer use it..
And I got suspended for abusing ebay??

My item is in the list which paypal has to be offered as payment method..

Is there anyway we can offer paymate to customer without paypal services and without being suspended by ebay?? Thanks

How do you convince people to use paymate??

I tried it last time but they still choose to pay via paypal, and some customer want to report me to ebay as I am not offering paypal..

Thanks

Nice list. Thanks :)

I too had a paddy with Paypal and after having responded politely to mulitple requests for info - totally lost the plot when they asked for some they had already had and told them basically to take a long walk off a short pier - they suddenly became very polite but still 100% ineffective!

badebay 03-17-2009 03:21 AM

I'M not sure but i think Nochex threatened court action if ebay refused to accept their payment tools. Ebay backed down. that was a few years ago. Maybe a problem is that buyers have been brainwashed into accepting paypal as prefered method,on security grounds. ( as we all know paypal's guarantee is questionable) ever tried to get an issue sorted out by paypal? not straight forward at all.

chostin 03-18-2009 01:20 PM

yeah, and if they don't take it up within I think 45 days they are screwed anyways....

At least I have seemed to have gotten better at resolving paypal limitations in most instances and if I have a few accounts going it isn't the hugest problem. But I am in Canada and there still is no equiv. the the SSN request. I can see that being the ultimate disaster in most paypal limitation problems for most of you guys in the US.

Viktoria 03-27-2009 06:15 PM

Even if you do choose to use PayMate or whatever, you still won't find many people on Ebay accepting anything other than PayPal. Or is it the same thing, as in if the seller say they accept PayPal that automatically includes the alternatives? I wouldn't think so, but I'm asking because I've never seen ANYONE say they accept bidpay or paymate, etc.

joewiley 06-18-2009 01:37 AM

:ballchain:

As far as I am concerned it is the usual story with Paypal when a purchase problem is encoutered.

Sorry we cannot help you with the transaction you mention because your purchase was a digital product.

So there you go.

if i was banned from ebay, but succesfully set up a new ebay account with all the correct methods outlined in ebay stealth....... can ebay still link new account with banned account thru the old paypal account even if i change the paypal email address?

thanks

GreenBean 11-27-2009 07:36 PM

cerebus,

Yes. Your new account will be linked. Why? Because paypal keep that old info on their records. Looks changed from your end but that old LINKING info is there. That creates troubles. It really really is best to make new ebay/new paypal when you start again. :peace:

beeb 11-28-2009 06:39 AM

how do you use nochex then to pay for items on ebay?

uk

onceuponatime 12-26-2009 05:18 AM

I'm a US ebayer. Just got limited on paypal because of SS number. I'm looking into PAYMATE (but they want ss number as well). Will it look suspicious if I use PAYMATE? Also, if I use my stealth info and my REAL SS number will they share that with Ebay? Anyone know? I didn't think that bidpay was an acceptable payment plan on Ebay any longer. They don't show up on their accepted list as of today, or did I read it wrong?

aslam 01-04-2010 09:56 AM

I used Nochex there fee is high as well 2.9% + 0.20p and you can't withdraw more then 500£ per day dame **** and monthly withdraw limit is 5000 only nochex is another bastered behind the Monitor I think, also if you need account where you can take more then 500£ every day there is 50£ setup fee in this case I will still prefer paypal stealth account.

thanks

aslam 01-04-2010 09:57 AM

also There is a non refundable random credit/debit card validation fee of between 0.01p and 1.99p taken during the sign up process. ** The Merchant account set up fee may increase for certain higher risk categories or low processing merchants.
