I personally like BPI, but really don't care much for BDO. BDO has some stupid policies and high fees, such as charging P100 extra just to put money in a provincial account. Also any withdrawals over P50k they have to call their head office in Makati for approval. Another time waster. The lines at their branches, such as at SM Malls tend to be extra long, too.

There are two main mobile phone providers in PI: Globe & Smart (PLDT)

SIM's are easy to obtain locally. Any mall, shop, or sari-sari store has them. They cost maybe 50 pesos each (about $1 USD) and don't require any paperwork or registration such as Hong Kong, Taiwan, or Japan.

PH SIM's can roam outside of PI, but with added charges. Again, you need a way to obtain the SIM's if you are abroad tho.

Other way is go to indonesia in ubud you can open bank account by deposit 8 million IDR / 554 something dollar :-). U can take it out after. In Indonesia its even more easy as PP.
Do a 2 weeks vacation in bali then get everything set up.

It's a loophole and a way to get around paying the IRS that you've pointed out. Totally not within the government's policy.

Once things are pointed out and exploited they get patched. Paypal and eBay may be alright with it, but this is the kind of thing that leads to new legislation being passed to restrict e-commerce even more.

true, if that happen we hopefully have A.I. / Torrent / Crypto based system on board. In western countries you get stopped from making actually legal money with any kind of rules. System in our reality getting on edge soon .. I have so many friends they doing biz official public without using law loopholes they just get screwed over left and right from lawyers scamming legally - honest seller -. As well EU parliament or USA stupid law maker old people or corrupt lobby. We really on a edge..

Many Expats such as myself supplement their incomes with e-commerce. Filipinos in particular are very good that this, and in particular make great VA's, and call center/BPO reps. The Philippines is one of the largest Call Center/BPO's in the world, and it's not surprising since English is widely spoken especially in Manila.
