Wow, I was afraid you'd say that. Just to be clear, you're talking about ANY mention, including even in the notes area as well, correct? Not just the usual places (payment sent as ebay auction rather than goods, auction number references in the title, etc)?

It's amazing. I have a suspended user for my primary address on one account and included on at least two others and nothing's happened yet! I wonder if they're starting with the most risky accounts first and working their way across.

But there is one instance that may still be safe. If there is no reference to an auction number, just one person paying another for something (could be anything), I would think that would be ok. If not, well...then Paypal is completely useless.

Good point...but what about doing as you do (merchant account) and then send them an invoice direct from your Paypal specifically marked up for "goods" rather than "ebay auction" and then emailing them with the details? A bit of a pain...but it COULD work.

If THAT is what causes the problem (mention of item, user id, url, ect) then maybe Paypal doesn't care what you do in the confines of their own service as long as it doesn't involve ebay. As long as it's not suspect anyway. Meaning that if YOU are the one paying for the item, you can be relatively safe--as you'll be able to control all the factors you mentioned. So Paypal could still be useful when paying for your own items, and paying directly to the buyer.

It's a theory anyway.
