Method of getting unbanned on PayPal

Apparently it worked for a guy in Belgium, but didn't work for me in Hungary.
You have to send a message to paypal support (preferably through email, since its too long)

Madam, Sir,
I am the holder of the account [account_name] on PayPal, which holds information about me.
I would like my account to be closed and request, pursuant to Article 17.1 of the General Regulations on Data Protection (RGPD), that you delete all my personal data attached to it.
Please inform me of the measures taken following my request as soon as possible and at the latest within one month of receipt (Article 12.3 of the DPMR).

Apparently they will reply in 1-2 months and close your account, and you'll be able to use the card/bank attached to it again on new paypals. Just thought this might be interesting to share, didnt work for me though

No James, it must be true, I heard it from a friend of mine who got it from her window cleaner. He cleans the windows of a lady who has a son that works in a sandwich bar in London. He overheard one of his customers saying how a friend of his knew someone in Poland who knew somone that did it

Or - if they keep the numbers without atributing any name to them will that keep them in compliance but enable them to keep stealthers at bay?

Good point - you're probably right. I'm not familiar enough with the legislation to make an educated guess one way or the other.

I expected this to be some apparent method to get an account unsuspended. This definitely seems like hearsay, urban legend material. Possible that it works, seems interesting. I very much doubt it.
