PayPal banned 12 years ago - can I just make another now?
 

I was banned 12 years ago on PP via an Ebay ban. Recently (after MP) I made a new eBay with all original info and it's working fine. Now that they're separated, I guess they don't share info anymore?

Wondering at this point if I can just make a new PayPal with my real info again. New computer, new email, new address, new bank account. Same phone # OK? I don't think they had my social back then, but obviously that would be the same if so.

Paypal never remove any account,banned or closed or active,the bank account you linked to the PAYPAL account will stay

Paypal would want his SSN ,

You can make paymennt on Ebay using Paypal.
You can use it to accept payment if you have your own website or want t o deal outside Ebay.
Or use it to send and receive money.
with overseas transactions,it is cheaper than bank wiretransfer

It will ban you .

you cant use the old info on pp - that being said, with eb using MP, why do you see the need for a new pp? just wondering

you can use the same info , 12 years is a long time , back in the day there was barely any verification so that it is unlikely paypal would bother here , you just make sure you have different email , phone and financial details as the old ones can not be used anymore

Yeah - just to clarify, I don't want the PP to use with eBay. I wouldn't link them. I'm doing fine with MP there, this is for other transactions on PP outside of eBay.

I would use a new phone, IP, computer (thank god, not the same one from 12 years ago LOL), address, email, and bank details. But yeah - the SSN is where I'm worried, or some sort of link to Venmo or eBay that I'm not doing but they use to verify on the back end or something. Or if my name and SSN is already in their system from years ago (I don't remember if I gave SSN back then or not).

I have had no problem creating a new PayPal account, just different email, address and ip address.

I just realized I had records - they DID have my real SSN on the old account. Am I screwed and can't re-use it?

Though I havent faced this situation personally, since i dont have a SSN, I wouldnt use the SSN again....very easy to link accounts

Yes, generally there shouldn't be any real problem with that, you can create a new account.
and enter the two platforms, they no longer have links, so they do not share information

you can go on and open , you will not be limited just because of an old account

nowadays paypal are much more sophisticated than 12 years ago , in the US they do online verification of SSN , here in the UK they do credit checks so that it is a new type of verification and old accounts without such verification do not matter anymore

Paypal never delete any account,so it is not just SSN,but the bank account ,you cannot reuse the same bank account .

There must be some unqiue ID for UK residents,if not SSN,what would that be?
I recall once on Paypal site,an Irish woman goes to London often and have a UK paypal account and UK bank account,Paypal suspended her account demanding her UK driver license which she does not have.
what did she do wrong?

no ID needed , they use first name + second name + last name +DOB + address

all this has to match credit history , you leave out second name (if you have it) for example and you fail

I haven't yet - I realized that they do have my old SSN. So I'd essentially be making an account with new bank account, address, IP, and phone #. But the SSN and name would be the same.

Would this screw me? Has anyone else done a new account after 12 years with the same name/SSN but everything else different?

You just have to find out yourself,Paypal never delete accounts,dead or alive.
Have you tried logging into your banned Paypal account,what happens then?

Banned account login still shows the account as limited and permanently closed.

I edited the SSN # on the banned account to something else, no idea if that was a good idea or not.

I opened a new one with all new info, but no SSN and it's stable so far. However, I assume the moment my SSN gets put into the new account I'm toast. Can I use the account under $600 a year and not put that in?
