| OfficialGenius | 03-29-2010 06:27 PM | I wonder too. I have an AccountNOW prepaid card also that they charge me 10 bucks a month for when there's money in there which is ridiculous. |
Cardone if you are based in the UK |
| tbsweet52 | 03-30-2010 07:52 AM | They are paypal friendly. I've withdrew $1000 at a time for a couple weeks to both my Netspend and AccountNow card. No problems from Metabank's side or Paypal. But remember, I wasn't using eBay so idk if that had anything to do with it.
If you really wanted to use one outside of US the only thing I can think of is have someone from US sign up for one with their SSN and then send you the card, then link the account & routing #s to your paypal. I've done it before with a guy in Vietnam. They don't ID you when you use the card so shouldn't be a problem. The only downside to that is if the person who sends you it writes the card info down and uses it, and then you have nothing to back you up because it's his/her name on it so they would always win if you filed an unauthorized charge complaint.
Probably not worth the hassle. |
| 411guru | 04-28-2010 03:53 AM | Since you have to supply your real SSN and name for the walmart cards, and you make a stealth paypal, wouldn't that link you and paypal get suspicious? |
| MtnDew | 06-03-2010 09:04 AM | ok so much info in this thread...if you wait on the real wal-mart or netspend card are they able to be used for paypal? |

| HurricaneHuntr | 06-03-2010 09:56 AM | Is there something i should know about simon/ally because so far no problems for me |
| Hercules | 06-05-2010 10:49 AM | I think we should make a big long list of all the cards and banks to use, then post them all so we can find new ones after the ebay/amazon spies make them obsolete! |
| First Edition | 06-05-2010 11:23 AM | Paypal cannot see any of the information on a bank account, or money card, or greendot card, or the girl you wake up next to.
They're only as smart as you let them be.
Walmart money card is a waste of time. It is not an easy answer to the problems at hand.
Banks that work very well are, bank of america, suntrust, chase, ing (names match) us bank, wells fargo, bb&t most local credit unions.... Point is, there are hundreds of solutions for bank accounts, and wal mart money card should be last on that long list. |
| Hercules | 06-05-2010 12:21 PM | Yea so how do you explain all the cards that used to work and now don't? Your right about banks but things change and I don't think posting it like this is a good thing. Maybe PP will hound a certain bank till they give in and block twisted names. |
| First Edition | 06-05-2010 04:30 PM | The explanation for cards not working:
Paypal's loss prevention department gets smarter, and so do we. My point is, WAL MART MONEY CARD IS A WASTE OF TIME AND EFFORT. We can post away about it all day, this entire forum is dedicated to ways to get back on ebay and paypal. They're a huge company, and it's not just as easy as "oh man, First Edition is on to Vanilla Visa, flip that switch that shuts off Vanilla Visa"
Paypal will never not let any of the aforementioned be added to paypal. It's up to the banks to let the deposits come in under certain names.
Cards are just shaky. Sometimes certain cards work, sometimes they don't. Again with this, there are A LOT of different answers to the same problem. And Wal Mart shouldn't be a part of that, IMO. |
| Burning | 06-05-2010 05:18 PM | There are other ways to withdraw your money, but you have to do your research. I will not tell anyone except for reputable members that pm me due to prying eyes.. |
| Hercules | 06-05-2010 05:23 PM | You are denying my point. I just have this opinion that maybe if there was more discretion on the part of open posts to the general public apposed to at least the subscribed area, things may last a bit longer. You believe that there will always be another door to open and continue unabated. Maybe your right. |
Lol First Edition is right. For example do a forum search for Mango card. Now that's a card that someone found and made a post. I even got a card when I first heard about it and it was working then before too many people got to it. Read from the start to the end. Everybody burnt it up and now it no longer works. Prime example. Same thing as Ing bank. it got burnt up and now it only works same name not stealth. There are cards that are like Mango but why post it so it doesn't work like the Mango card. |
| Imback2010 | 06-05-2010 09:07 PM | I have a great idea about something you can buy with a unconfirmed PP and resell from a ebay account that has a merchant account atttached to it :) and get your money back safely...........
Just be creative :) |

My biggest point is opposing wal mart money card! It sucks. It's a wal mart bank account marketed to strictly sub prime. |

Paypal didn't force ING to not work with paypal. ING decided (their risk assessment team) to not let electronic deposits come in under a name that differs from the account holder. Walk into bank of america with a check made out to joe blow, and see if they'll deposit it into your account. They will not. (unless your name happens to be joe blow) Most banks just do not care about electronic deposits. However, ING does. It wouldn't matter if you had a google checkout account in a different name. ING sets the rule on whether or not they will let the deposit come in.
They don't change the rules based on what we post. Paypal knows they allow prepaid cards to be added to paypal, for the most part because a lot of people use prepaid cards to buy stuff online, not just ebay stealthers. If they illuminated all prepaid cards on paypal, I bet they would lose a very, very large portion of their business.
I use bank of america and vanilla.... well paypal, go ahead and shut down bank of america, and visa while you're at it. No offense guys, but paypal isn't omnipotent. |
Well I meant that some things were working and then they stopped because too many people were doing it. When the bank has an incoming deposit PayPal sends a note stating that if the names do not match then send it back. So a smaller company will comply while a larger one doesn't care.
Bottom line is just go with what works and have several backups because if one fails then use plan B. I use all different types of cards and bank accounts including the PayPal debit card. If one day bank of america & vanilla visa stops working then you will have to find something else that works. |

nope.... doesn't happen. The bank decides whether or not they want to accept a deposit under a different name. |
| First Edition | 06-06-2010 11:44 AM | oh and btw.... ING is not a small bank |
Ok PayPal does send a note with the deposit. You can say no if you want. |
And I never said Ing was a small bank. I was referring to the Mango card. | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 05:52 PM. | |
