| frooble | 07-27-2012 10:09 PM | New account experience for me.
3 items sold. All non "high risk". First 2 payments held. 1 buyer marked positive feedback and that payment was instantly released. 3rd item had no restrictions.
So only the 2nd payment is held until the buyer leaves feedback I'm presuming. |

Its deffo worth the additional 64p (or so) per mailing... get your receipt and immediately enter the tracking number into paypal/ ebay function. This has always freed my 'holds' money instantly. To avoid the bs*** scammers claiming they never received their items in the mail, this avoids those problems and I always send by recorded if the sale is over £10. | This is great advice. Whenever I'm wavering- and internatational users note that postage costs in the UK went up significantly one month ago- I always just think "suck it up", because you KNOW the one time you try to save on that extra £1 per item or whatever to send recorded (and it does add up/take a toll on you.... it means you're always underquoting the actual postage cost alone so are just paying more yourself to send your item to someone, let alone getting the correct amount for it, or- common sense forbid- charge like a whole 20p more to cover your packaging/travel/tiny part of fees) it'll be the time you get the idiot claiming non-receipt or giving you grief.
I enter the tracking codes immediately into both pp and eb too, but the funds are not instantly released upon delivery of item. Sometimes they are, sometimes they;re not: I assumed it should be instant (tracking number shows delivered = trigers realease) but it's not. interesting info: when requesting a few holds released where delivery had been proven two days prior, reply from pp mentioned that holds are ususally (or often... something like that- "its the standard") released three days after delivery confirmation: i.e. when tracking shows delivered, probably only need to contact pp if holds haven't been released after three days. |
| mirus | 07-29-2012 12:16 PM | can proof of postage. Be enough for funds to be released quicker or does it have to be strictly recored or tracking? |
| First Edition | 07-29-2012 12:55 PM | Proof of delivery can be enough, but most of the time they just release whenever they want. |
| mirus | 07-29-2012 04:00 PM | How about proof of postage? |

if anyone files a non-receipt case etc against you, you will simply get the "proof of postage is not proof of delivery" response from eb/pp, even if you can indeed provide the receipt proof.
Item has to be shown to actually have been DELIVERED i.e. RECEIVED at the address on file with pp. |
100 feedback I am in the USA, and since after hitting 100 feedback my account has not been placed on hold.
Before that I had a hold placed on my account on 2 seperate occasions. First time was because I was a new seller. 2nd time was because-so i believe- I let my account sit for a while with no sales and under 100 feedback.
Once the 2nd hold came into place, I immediately stopped selling on the account. About 30 days later the hold was lifted.
Paypal looks at a lot of criteria before placing the funds on hold. The 100 feedback is the criteria that usually lifts the Hold most permanantly in most instances. Time will also lift the hold.
Paypal is a pain in the ass, but after finding this forum I have gotten a lot more control over my Paypal processed payments. Thanks! |
| First Edition | 07-31-2012 01:23 PM | You can't really say what paypal does MOST times in this situation, because you are not paypal.... |
| jenupy2j | 08-01-2012 09:02 AM | For me, I always post it & provide tracking info on both paypal & Ebay. As soon as i receive a positive feedback on that particular item, the funds are released immediately. |
| prosto_prelest | 08-03-2012 12:48 PM | my funds do not get released even if the buyer leaves positive feedback....
this hold sucks big time, have to wait so much to get your money. i wait 21 days period, fb received or not. got about 15fb in my ebay account so far, but its only a few months old, hopefully it will change. |
| mirus | 08-13-2012 06:37 PM | This 21 day hold is horrible |
| GreenBean | 08-13-2012 07:32 PM | Keep on working at getting over the holds then :violin: |
| mirus | 08-14-2012 05:53 AM | Lol when I phoned up pp they said the hold will always be there.
It looks like Ill have to buy an account |
| Elijah | 08-14-2012 06:00 AM | You were already told on the last thread that this is a lie. Why do you constantly ignore advice given?
Buying an acccount will not help if you operate it poorly and get a ton of disputes/complaints, or if PayPal simply decides to be a d*ckhead even when all is well, as they do 99% of the time. As I wrote previously, they will automatically be removed on the 90th day after first sale and since PayPal will take at least a few hours to "respond" after this happens (if they decide to reapply the holds on their own accord this time), you will in theory be able to get a few hours worth of "new" payments that will be unheld between the time of freedom and the moment of doom. |

You are spinning yarns to compensate your shortcomings.
Holds are not always there. You were told that in another thread.
Buying a paypal account is NOT the answer.
The answer is WORK by you & not a hand out:deadhorse:
Earn the right from paypal to not have holds....
or dont sell on an ecommerce platform that has paypal:rip: |

| slapped | 08-14-2012 11:22 AM | How about a WHOLE NEW Approach to the Paypal 21 Day Hold thing, Since it is now pretty clear that this will be pretty permanent thing, why does'nt Everyone who creates a New selling account PLAN on their Money Being held for 28 Days, NOT 21, so this way if your money gets released sooner or Paypal takes the Holds Off your account completely you will feel like you Hit the Lottery, it is better that constantly writing theses posts complaining and looking for a way to circumvent the holds that does NOT exist, or is Costly AND Dangerous to your account/accounts
Hows that for a RADICAL Approach to this issue? |

over the past 8 years or more i have occasionally been drawn in to the world of selling what i dont have
it was HARD ENOUGH with no PP holds to keep an account running in this way
but as slapped correctly states, you HAVE to plan on not having the money from the sales for 28 days or more
21 days they hold it
2-3 days to get it to your bank
another 2-3 days for stock to arrive from supplier
another day or so to pack
another 1-3 days to get it to the customer
thats ONE WHOLE month
buyers wont accept delays and accounts WILL die
trust me ive been down that murky road |

Hows that for a RADICAL Approach to this issue? | I'm with you on this slapped. As an anology we get paid for our eggs after 30 days past the end of the month they were delivered in. Thus if we deliver on the 1st we can wait 2 months for the money - feed bills keep coming though - just factor it into your business plan | | All times are GMT -5. The time now is 05:56 AM. | |
