No set amount. Like I said, I notice it at 90 days of selling in the UK, but this is not always the case. Just a waiting game

Dmshark25 07-31-2013 10:00 PM

I have accounts that were just under 60 days old where the hold was lifted and and accounts that are 90 days and others over 90 days and still holds , so it's basically whenever Paypal feels comfortable with you which is probably a real complicated formula with derivatives..

Or they toss a dart up blind folded as I think SandyD mentioned

danshan 08-01-2013 12:11 AM

Just curious did the accounts have minimum 26 transactions and over 250 in sales before the holds were lifted?

Dmshark25 08-01-2013 12:32 AM

Yea most did, just the one account that lifted the holds 2 months in so just off the top of my head it had 20 sales and $1200, but all the rest were at 3-4 month mark so they would of had 30-40 transactions.

I feel there's no set science in this, now that I have a large group of accounts most are little over 3 months of selling but some have a randomness

Dmshark25 08-01-2013 12:35 AM

Oh I just had one account the other day start accepting instant payments with 22 transactions 10 feedback and 3months old exactly

JamesNorth101 08-01-2013 07:32 AM

Had a couple recently myself that have not had any holds on the payments. Seems to be little patten to what PP does

GreenBean 08-01-2013 08:07 PM

@JamesN'

:nono:

that is wrong.

paypal has a pattern that only paypal knows

I only have 21 days hold on my US sales. For my UK sales, I get the money instantly.

Ebayorbust 08-02-2013 02:05 AM

Yes, not every new account gets hit with 21 day holds.

This isnt special to UK however - one of my UK accounts has holds from day one - low level sales though so havent had a lot of money coming in

igotsuspended 08-02-2013 03:23 PM

An eBay representative told me that I need at least 25 sales before they can remove 21 days hold.

26 sales over $250 in transactions within 90 days to release holds. I know i know it varies but this is the standard.

Essentially correct but holds can be placed BACK on by pp - known to occur

May be described as a standard.

But it can be varied without warning.

Not hard and fast at all.

Typical paypal/ebay ( regardless of country).

It doesn't have to be within 90 days. It can be more or less depending on how fast you are selling.

I dont agree with that other than the fact that pp can do whatever they want and do

danshan 08-03-2013 05:38 PM

Normally you need over 25 items and over $250 in sales to lose 21 day hold. I dont think ebay feedback has anything to do with it although dsr's or negs could probably nix the plan

For UK users, intraction between ebay & paypal does have influence on holds.

Dont forget a rolling reserve can also be placed on accounts.

There is no true system sort of like everything but is a good guiding point

BigCJ 08-03-2013 10:26 PM

Unfortunately, the system that ALWAYS works? is whenever paypal feels like it.
They do not even apply to their own set rules of sales/feedback and dollar amounts.

Many of us have had way over the points listed above and have still had holds.

It seems like a rep takes a quick glance at an account, clicks a few buttons or makes notes, then a date/time is set when the holds will no longer apply. And just like that, they can click a button to put it back on until the account is set for review again.

These things are never set in stone with this fickle company. This question has been asked time and time again. Pp and eb read and look out for all kinds of forums. That much is known and they will throw us off at any chance given.

You need to remember that OP.

Stick to strong sales and customer service.
Ship fast, on time and track everything.
Have your info at the helm of your ship or sink.

Those are the best methods to getting rid of the holds that work (The BEST) to date.

I just did a search and know eBay remove positive feedback option to release your money. They did it before.

Really i thought positive feedback and a message to pp got your funds released but this is sort of off topic
