Yankee you really can't do that. Paypals seller protection rules are clear.
Otherwise you could sell a 5k tv on ebay, get paid via paypal, withdraw the cash, then get your mate jack the lad from round the corner to come and sign your 'receipt'
It is easily open to abuse and that is why paypal do not accept it. There rules are in place for a reason. | Yes the rules are in place for a reason! You must prove delivery to the SHIP TO ADRESS and if that is LOCAL PICKUP ONLY(like all of us who sell appliances, boats, motorcycles, ATV, HOMES, recreational vehicles, tractors, etc... This is very very common and YES it is 100% paypal's rules and policies. Call them and inquire. |

In the UK you 100% are not covered. Cars, boats and other vehicles are 100% not covered.
Can you quote the policies were it shows you are?
It just doesn't work. Refer to my example which shows the ease in which it can be abused. |

When have you ever read delivery must be by UPS, FEDEX, etc or any other carrier? I am sorry, you are 100% incorrect. This is not a debate, I am stating facts directly from Paypal business center.
As for abuse of shipping, well, you can do that with any and all carriers if you want. I mean USPS says delivered to a zipcode and no signiture required up to $750.00 |
| BigCJ | 08-31-2014 09:32 AM | Re: is 3k too much? OP. You are taking a big risk by accepting paypal then letting the buyer pick up.
You shouldnt have to call into paypal to get a clear policy.
At the end of the day, its an unnecessary risk that you are taking with the buyer and your paypal account. :ranger:
Keep control over your sales and tell the buyer how you wish to be paid. If they want it bad enough, they will comply. |

It is very clear in paypal policy, but I am not going to waste my time reading it, copy and paste and take screenshots for something so silly, but for us who have local pickup, it is an everyday occurance. It is just common sense. A fairly local person buys something, pays for it and drives over to pick it up to save shipping cost. They sign for it, same as a walmart.com and target, etc... or a furniture store. :)) |
| Jetplanes | 08-31-2014 01:59 PM | Re: is 3k too much? Nah yankee. Everyone said no paypal on pickup which makes alot of sense. Why would I open myself to fraud like that when I could simply get cash on the spot? Anyone trying to buy my sh1t with pp then ask to pick it up gets reported right away :) |

| yankee | 08-31-2014 03:28 PM | Re: is 3k too much? Called paypal business center, since the launch of Paypal here, online tracking is required for all paypal transactions.
That now includes local pickups at retail stores. Paypal is insisting on paypal here for local pickups for protection.
I stand corrected!! |
