Paypal limited. Does this mean I can't use it on my online store anymore?

Hi all, today my PP account has been limited because of offering a c-feit item in my ebay account. So the ebay account is still open, but the PP one is limited.

However, the most significant problem is that this same PP account is also connected with my website, which has its own online store.

So does that definately mean, that this website can never again be connected with any other PP (stealth) account?

Uh...yeah. They wont associate with you anymore and will tell you to take their logo away off of your site.

Re: Paypal limited. Does this mean I can't use it on my online store anymore?

They already did in their email. I have contacted them to see if I can send them some documents, proving this item is not c-feit, but I am not sure if this will work.

However, as I said - the PP account has been limited because of the items in my ebay account and not because of the items in my personal website, so I am thinking - if I make a new stealth PP (with all new info, card and so on), will they still link them just because I will connect my website to the new one.

I am not sure how the connection between PP and other websites is working and if the domain name of the site is enough for limiting the new PP.

I would probably change the domain name and the theme before adding a new paypal just to be safe and next time keep your website paypal separate from ebay it would probably last longer.

You better not to do that, I did it once and immediately the new pp got limited.

Re: Paypal limited. Does this mean I can't use it on my online store anymore?

You will not be able to link anymore PP to the store.

You will need to start fresh....

New Store and new PP and never use that PP on ebay.

Make separate eb/pp accounts for selling on ebay

You have some work ahead of you. There is no quick fix for this.

Re: Paypal limited. Does this mean I can't use it on my online store anymore?

funny thing is that they never asked me to add the domain name in Paypal. They just needed some apps to be installed. So does that mean, that if I change the domain, it still wouldn't work?

And one other thing - a friend of mine has his PP suspended for the very same reason (probably the same competitor did this to him too) and after calling paypal, they provided him a link to attach documents, proving, that the item, that was the reason for the limitation, is not c-feit.

Anyone elase had similar issue? Because he also got the same email, saying, that the limitation can not be appealed.

Re: Paypal limited. Does this mean I can't use it on my online store anymore?

If they don't have your domain then just remove the apps, clear history, change ip and make a new paypal, just don't use it on ebay.

Re: Paypal limited. Does this mean I can't use it on my online store anymore?

Just create a stealth and add a PayPal widget to your site, it really shouldn't effect it and a website shouldn't link it because what if a company bought your website? Check out stripe as well, that's a really good payment service for ecommerce stores

Re: Paypal limited. Does this mean I can't use it on my online store anymore?

Thank you guys, I am ready to blow one stealth PP just to try, because for sure that will be easier than changing the domain. And for sure I will not make the same mistake and use the same PP for ebay and the website.

It is just that I never knew, that such a thing can happen. I had many items stopped in Ebay, but I never knew, that paypal can suspend you for selling c-feit items and that they can ssuspend your account so brutally - without warning, without checking if it is really a c-feit or not, without asking - just BAM, suspended without appeal! Never knew such thing can happen. And this was a 3-year old PP account without any red flags.

Re: Paypal limited. Does this mean I can't use it on my online store anymore?

OK, here is some update. I opened the new account a month ago and after I verified it, I connected it with my store 10 days ago. Yesterday I got a message, that my Paypal is temporarly limited because of some items, that "violate their policy". So I have deactivated these items in my website and asked them to review my website again and to see if now it covers their policy. They did and today my Paypal became active again. Of course right after that I have returned the items in question back for sale.

I'm not sure if there will be a problem again and if someone will manually review my website again in the future, but I guess I would just have to wait and see...

Why did you list the offending items again?, they already warned you that they are not acceptable, deactivate them, replace them with new items, none of which are foofoo and carry on, no need to carry on towards a total outright suspension which is the way you are heading by listing them again. There is no 'wait and see' on this one, they have warned you, next step will be suspension!

Why on earth would you risk your whole website / business for a few items??

Paypal wont be so forgiving next time.

Re: Paypal limited. Does this mean I can't use it on my online store anymore?

Because this is what my website is all about. Selling t-shirts with trademarks on it. Sorry to say it, but that's the way it is - 95% of my items are like that. I'm sure I'm the only one in this forum ;)

If I remove them, there is no point of having the website anyway. I have another website with items, that violates Paypal rules the same way, but it is selling and using paypal from 10 years without problems.

But what should I do? What do you suggest? Yeah, I have missed your class, maybe, but what do you suggest I can do? If they suspend it again, I will just change the domain name and that's it.

I will be glad to hear a smarter solution about this, instead of getting attacks with words like "silly", but I doubt anyone has one :)

Yes. User just the other day had a problem.

He had sent an invoice to a buyer. Was an issue, buyer revealed the name of the site that had a limited paypal already.... New paypal got limited too.

Re: Paypal limited. Does this mean I can't use it on my online store anymore?

My idea is to not link the website with paypal, just inform the customer that after checkout , he will receive a paypal invoice, and well if you spread it on different pp accounts, with differnt invoice number and id of product, and withdraw often, what is
the problem ? paypal won't ever know where and what you are selling

I try it right now with products that are not couterfeit and customers are happy with it, but out of paypal policy

I think the good way is to be honest wiht customers, and if they buy Nike Airmax shoes for $50, they know it is not the authentic one, so that's why they will be agree to pay for a paypal invoice instead of direct checkout.

Re: Paypal limited. Does this mean I can't use it on my online store anymore?

I am not selling counterfeit items (replicas or something like that), I am selling my own models, but they use trademarks without license obviously. However, I have many orders and this way will not work, because for sure many customers will not buy if they can not pay directly in the website.

Does anyone know when Paypal will probably check my website again? For an example - if I only leave the 5% of the items, that are OK for a month (so the paypal check passes) and then I return the other items again? Or they will check regularly?

Because the domain obviously links the paypal accounts, but obviously I have no choice.

Sorry to tell you that, but now your website is dead in paypal's eyes, make a new one, but i fear of the same thing will happend again and again

I don't see how will they link accounts again if at the end I will make a new stealth Paypal account and change the domain of the website.

paypal detect stuff like this.

Can you consider another payment processor too?

Re: Paypal limited. Does this mean I can't use it on my online store anymore?

80% of them want US address. My general mistake was, that I have connected both my website and my ebay to the same Paypal. And the Paypal was blown because of an item, that I have offered in my ebay account. The website was 1 year old until that moment and I never had ANY Paypal problems with it.

So I assume, that if this has not happened, because I sell the same stuff in it since day 1.

So what I'm trying to say is that no one has ever bothered to see what is this website selling.

Obviously the domain has linked the old paypal with the new one (which is still working by the way), so I guess that if no one reports you, Paypal will probably never bother to see what exactly are you offering in your website.

The report however came from a competitor, not from a customer, because my customers are always happy and 80% of them come to buy more from me.

Unfortunately the options are not many for me. I tried to create a merchant account, so I can accept credit/debit cards, but most of them want SSN, some of them of course have problems with what I sell. Also obviously I have no choice but to wait for this present Paypal account to blow fully. In the mean time I will duplicate my website to a different domain and create a new stealth Paypal, that I will connect to the new domain.

So regarding the present Paypal, that has been restricted and then unlocked again, I will just have to wait and see if or when will they check my website and limit it again. I just wonder when will be the next check, because if it will be soon, then I can remove the 95% of problematic items and upload them back after 2 months. But if they plan to check the website after 6 months, then that will obviously not work.

You need to get a merchant account.

Just my 2 cents.... This is were paypal is not wise for business. Someone like you would have an expectation of having the set up you made. You trade away and then get caught out because of a competitor.

Given that info, I feel the account will be marked... The competitor likely has no reason to go away. Many are petty enough to stalk rivals.
Do you have any idea of who it might be?

Now, before you set up the new domain, can you get a UK merchant account?

Re: Paypal limited. Does this mean I can't use it on my online store anymore?

Yes, the fact, that firstly I connected the ebay account and the website to the same Paypal was a big mistake, but anyway, it already happened, I will at least learn from that.

Yes, you are right, keeping in mind what I'm selling, I expect problems all the time. However, I never knew they can limit your Paypal for such things. I thought only ebay can make you problems for that, but at least they will limit you several times before suspend you and this is why I was a little calm. But with the Paypal it happened immediately and without any warnings. Just one hit and that's it.

I have no idea who might it be, I just know that a friend of mine with the same bussiness got hit the same way too. But anyway, it happened, no need to think about that, better look forward.

The ebay account is still OK, but obviously i can't use it anymore, because I have no other way to accept payments. It's stupid, because this Ebay account has more than 200 feedback and it is at 100% and never got any hits at all.

I am now trying to make a merchant account at Skrill, we will see how it goes there.

No dont use skrill. Get a real merchant account. You'll be fine
You should be able to use the merchant account with ebay as well

Skrill can work as a viable option - of course people prefer pp but there will be those who use Skrill
