Bank account terminated
 

hello i had a cap 1 360 account and they closed it today
i had no linked accounts
and entire account was funded via paypal
the lady said only way to get funds out was to ask paypal to do ACH reversal
i was planning on telling paypal my bank acct was hacked and locked
does any one know if that will mess up my paypal account?
also how far back can they reverse ACH transfers?
one is still pending from this morning but the rest have completed.
any help would be great!!

pending withdrawal will most likely bounce back into your paypal balance.
Since paypal cannot deposit money into an account that does not exist.

It will be difficult to reverse past withdrawals and i am sure cause risk to your paypal account.

#1.. How did you manage to link a cap 360 account to paypal? They have been blacklisted

i dont think theyr blacklisted atleast anymore
paypal let me login to the account and have been working perfectly fine for atleast 2 months
paypal account is still in good standings so far.
I tried to put in a 300$ add money transfer to see what would happen but realized it may have been a bad idea.
Should i ask for the ACH reversal or just give up on that stack and a half :violin:

they said a "manual review" led to this decision and it is "non reversable"

@t3k, dont mention anything about bank being hacked or locked to paypal!

Why not go for a different bank account - BoA, Chase for example - get an account and add it on...just wait it out for the new bank account to be accepted and withdraw?

thanks for the advice.. i was thinking the same thing
however i had a good ammount of money that just recently transfered in there and would love to have a way to get it back.
if i told them my bank account was hacked and locked would they limit my account?

gah this is so much harder when theres money i almost had out involved

as in if i told them paypal account wasnt hacked but somehow my bank account was hacked and locked can we reverse the last few bank transfers? lol i can see it going ither way but i am not experienced in this. what do you guys think?

You have been told TWICE not to lie to the bank or Paypal,with bulldust stories of hacked accounts.

It does not work. And if you want a glimmer of hope to get your finds back you do not lie...

the truth is i dont know why they closed my account at all. they wouldnt disclose a reason so i wouldnt know what else to tell paypal

The reason likely came from PAYPAL.

The bank in question has caused issues for others, despite working for some time just as you described.

If you are confident, then talk to paypal and ask what,who,how or why, you are in this mess.

That is not a given that will work.

Was there any contact from the bank prior to this incident?

nope no contact at all.

so what information should i disclose to paypal in the case i would talk to them?
my account has been closed with the funds stuck inside
and when they ask why it was closed just tell them i dont know?

would there be a chance of getting limited if i tell them this? i still have some funds in paypal and i would like to atleast keep those

I would also like to know this.

I just tried using 360 to verify my account, like an idiot before checking here first, I figured since I saw it in PayPal's list of banks to select when trying to link an account that it would be ok. I'm still learning lol.

I tried the instant verification, nope, so I selected the small deposit choice. This was yesterday so I have no idea what is going to happen. I already gave up hope that it will work and am now paranoid my account is in danger.

I wish I did some research first. :pout:

Ok Capital One CHECKING accounts still work ..
Did you put in all your real info into cap one ? Or stealth it up a bit ???
Also u must wait a month or so before withdrawing to cap one as it is in a probation period .. And will pick right up on mismatched names ...
That said i wouldnt call pp i would call cap one tell them if they wont let you withdraw the money then reverse the payment back to pp . Yes they can do that

@bluegrass i tried asking them to do that and they refused... they said paypal had to do it. should i try calling cap back and asking again?

also cap one wasnt the first bank added and confirmed which might have helped to add it

I agree with GB it needs to be directed to pp and really have ducks in a row with info they will ask how old you are not your birth day things like that to trip you up .. if they think you had to add it up opposed to thinkin for a min and answering .. more problems .. I been a thinkin of a valid sounding reason to convince pp to try and pull money back out after depo is made .. NOTHING good comes to mind maybe no local bank fees bad customer service .. :pop2:

Point is funds must go "somewhere" for books to balance.

Yea i agree i mean either way they cant just keep the money maybe tell c1 that you bought out a biz and just was a misunderstanding I know banks has the ability to reverse payment back to pp .. that i am 100% 4sure of lol

ok so update.
the 2 pending transfers to the suposidly closed account have been completed
i tried adding money which is still pending... maybe somehow that will magically work?

How does one get there capitol one account closed? iv had mine for years dealing with paypal never had an issue.

but now for the real question
do i:
1 harass cap 1 to reverse withdrawls
2: call paypal and say i havent seen the funds in my bank account balance can we reverse them?
3:call paypal and say the account has been closed and they wont tell me why and i need to reverse the withdrawls
4:give up on a nice chunk of change

If the account was closed before the withdrawl showed completed, in a few days you will get an email from Paypal stating they had a problem with your bank account and the account is removed. The money you transferred will be back into your Paypal account sometime next week.

so i can still log in see the balance on the app but it says theres a hold on withdrawing from the account. when i call they say they ended their financial relationship

cross your fingers and call cap1 tell them if they arent going to let you have your money then reverse the payment they cant just keep your money ... dont know bub ..

By law they cannot keep your money. I would def call them and see. They usually hold it for awhile and then send a check.
