Default What info does eBay require to verify new biz seller accounts?

Interested in creating a new seller account on ebay as a registered business not an individual. I have gained knowledge on what info paypal needs to verify new business accounts such as EIN number and such but I could not find info specific to ebay in the ebook I purchased from Aspkin.

If a company plans on registering a business account on ebay for selling purposes what info do they require? Do they require a representative of the company's info in addition to the business info?

What info does eBay, independent of PayPal, require to verify a new seller account registered as a business? Does ebay require EIN or SSN? If my business is operated as a corporation do they require the documents used to organize this company or is it simply a phone call interview with and having a credit card on file?

Any help or being pointed in the right direction would be much appreciated!

Opening an ebay account name in a chore in the past at least. The wanted to know the users info and confirm ID, etc..

I would open stealth names only.

On the paypal side, stealth and when demanded and you are sure the accounts will last turn into a business and supply all business details.

Thanks for the reply Yankee,

I guess this is a redundant question but if ebay is requiring you to verify your id initially as a seller how could one really ever be stealth? Would you not be forced to give accurate info?

Also my account would be a business account owned by a registered business and only operated on ebay by an employee what would then be the verification requirement at that point? Would it be the employees info required or the businesses info or both?

Thanks

You never give ebay real info. It would be instantly linked and closed. The best thing is to avoid the database questions and then learn to pass them.

Ebay could not care less about your business. That is the paypal side because of legal and tax reasons.

When I opened up a business account the limits ended up being the exact same as an individual account. At first. I did end up getting the account basically unlimited (8500 items / $155K) which took about 9 or 10 months. I also was able to get significant increases by calling monthly for the increases. The difference was this was not a traditional stealth account. I set the account up as a business account first using my business address, and then called in to ask how to get higher limits. At the time (late 2011) they wanted the following: EIN or TIN, Articles of Incorporation, business address and business phone number. I believe they also wanted to see a bill in the name of the business verifying the address. I was given a fax number to send it to them and was told to call them back. Then I was told to call in right at 30 days for the increase - and the agent clearly said don't wait just call right in on that 30 day mark. They had to see how I was going to sell before issuing the increases. So I set my calendar to call every month and request the increases. At first the increases were small and frustrating. Then I decided to start asking if they could make it larger. I always had some kind of story of why I needed the larger limits (this business has a bunch of stuff to sell and has asked me to sell it for them). I found out that these limits can be manually overrided by the agent. At no time did I ever have to provide an ID or any type of personal identification (thanks to stealth guide). Things may be different now however it wouldn't hurt to try. One note - I actually had an LLC registered at a different address city state zip / phone number than I've ever used. YMMV of course. Hope this helps!

Great advice, especially with recent ID developments, get started in stealth correctly by reading around this forum and using the search box for things you may be unsure of, or post back on here, plenty of help available, do these things before you dive straight into creating a business account that may not even last if you do not know enough about the differences between stealth accounts and 'real' accounts with your original details used
