I'd imagine they'd scrutinise every aspect of your account before publishing a story like this to millions. Otherwise PayPal will come back and sue the press company if they say anything derogatory...

I dont think any EU law allows it, but I sure know many who are in that predicament. More so with Amazon, than PayPal.

If you feel you have options at your disposal to recover the funds, of course try recover it.

But if you've exhausted all possible avenues, then it may be better to move on.

Not entirely true. They can hold funds indefinitely, beyond the 180 day period, if they have reason to do so.

Dont leave more money than you can afford to lose in a PayPal account. But at the same time, don't always clear your balance when withdrawing/spending, leave enough behind to cover fees, chargebacks...
